aviridiane
I have a biology reference book stating that "polygenic inheritance is applied when multiple independent of genes have similar and additive effects on the same character. Alleles at several, perhaps many, loci affect each character." What i was wondering is whether these loci controlling a single character are situated at the same chromosome or are they scattered at different chromosomes? Thanks
pulasthi
hey, yes you are right. these multiple alleles can be located in the same chromosome or scattered around few different chromosomes. For example: eye color, skin color, height, weight, and some hereditary disorders like diabetes and many other polygenic diseases. check out my blog: http://www.pulasthi.info
