That link won't work either. I even tried accessing the web site using Firefox from my other computer, and all I get is this:

firefox.jpg

Also, the Firefox start page has not worked for several days on my computer with Firefox. I know my firewall isn't blocking the site because I use two different firewalls. One computer is using the Windows firewall, and the other is using ZoneAlarm. The Firefox web sites will not load on either computer. Is anybody else having trouble accessing these web sites?

No. The link works fine for me too...

It could be your router because your exact problem happened to me with another site awhile back. I have a Netgear MR814 and this is what my friend told me to do which fixed the problem. You might be able to apply it to your kind of router....

Bee

1. Go to your router login setup screen and click on "Basic settings"

2. Click on "Router Status"

3. Write down the primary and secondary DNS server IP addresses.

4. Go back to "Basic Settings" and scroll down to DNS sections.

5. Click on "Use the following DNS servers" instead of automatic options.

6. Type in the entrys you wrote down in step 3.

7. Save the settings and log out.

8. Go to the command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes)

9. Try reconnecting to your web site.

Yes' date=' I do have that kind of router. However, I don't think the router is causing the problem. I've had the router block web sites in the past, but I've always been able to access them by disconnecting the router and connecting the computer directly to the cable modem. I tried connecting the computer directly to the cable modem, but I still can't access any of the Firefox or Mozilla web sites.

No. I've tried accessing them through IE and Firefox. I've even tried accessing them on both Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Where do you live and what's your ISP? It's kind of odd that both of us cant access either site.

I live in Virginia, and my ISP is Adelphia.

Of course the easy alternative (already tried this btw) is using a proxy. Ie, http://proxysystems.net/proxy/index.php?q=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5tb3ppbGxhLmNvbS9maXJlZm94Lw--&hl=1111101001[/url'] Phproxy is more convinient than a real one.

I can access the Firefox sites perfectly with the proxy. Thanks for the link. However, I'm still wondering why can't I just access the web site from my browser? I haven't noticed any problems with any other web sites that I use.

It's strange because I tried pinging http://www.getfirefox.com from the Command Prompt, and it worked. I just can't load the site in a browser on any of my computers.

Slightly off-topic' date=' but can anyone else acess http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ but not http://63.245.209.10/firefox/ ?

Never had that happen before

The IP is http://www.mozilla.com, acording to mah ping thingy.[/quote']

That's possibly because they have other virtualhosts on the same IP, and resolve the correct virtual host using the HTTP Host header, which in the case of the 404 is set to the ip not the host/domain name.

You can access the site if you explicitly provide the Host head properly. For instance, do

telnet 63.245.209.10 80

Then paste this and press enter a few times

GET /firefox/ HTTP/1.1
Host: www.mozilla.com

You should be given the correct http response along with the http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ index.html.

Sounds like it's just a DNS issue, there's been a few random ones recently even without people chaning domain IP's propergating the network, changes can take up to 24h to propogate the network so if something weird happens stuff can be down for a couple of days to some people...
