Oh dear been away for a while else i'd have stuck my ore in a long time ago -

# XP in my Experience will run on no lower that 400 MHz . . .

#Laptops are genrally slower anyway becuase of the lower RPM of the HDD to keep power consumption (takes 5 amps (don't quote me on that) to start the average HDD spinning)

# NEVER run XP without full updates and 3 diffrent Spyware Programs - if the spyware protection slows you down don't run XP

# SuSe Can be funny about what it'll run on

# . . . . so will ubuntu

#wireless on that machine!? are you crazy?

I've switched to xubuntu, a project to get ubuntu to work well on low memory computers. I would definitely suggest ubuntu if you're new at Linux. The wiki site is amazing, and there are more people on the ubuntu forum then there are in my city 5 times over. It's pretty easy to do a server install and install fluxbox, icewm, or Xfce, or just use Xubuntu which uses Xfce (or the whole install if you have the resources on your computer :D). Thanks for all the help guys.
