Please can anybody help me on this?

 

The magnetic force on a moving electric point charge is given by F=qv*B where v is the velocity of the charge q and B the magnetic field. Derive the components of the magnetic force Fx, Fy, and Fz.

Do you know what a cross product of two vectors is?

 

If you consider that v and B are both vectors, and then look at the result from the cross product you will have a single vector with 3 dimentions, this multiplied by q will be the F vector, you can then just split the vector into it's x,y.z componants for showing the 3 seperate componants...

it's F = qv X B

 

Where X signifies cross product. That it's a cross product is important. Have you covered cross products?
