Chemistry suppliers?

KFC

Recommended Posts

I can't find any chemistry suppliers. Can someone help me.

I live in Los Angeles so if theres one there that would be great and I like buy 4 or 5 test tube not a billon.

Youprobably will not get a lot of replies too this because... people like to keep their soures secret ;)

The best thing I can suggest is use the search feature, there have been a lot of threads abou this in the past and I'm shure you'll find some of them useful :)

Cheers,

Another issue is that kewls are reading this as well. Such persons should not have access to chemicals, because that will cause accidents. I think this is more of an issue than that people want to keep their sources secret. We all benefit from sources, who sell a lot. That makes the companies run better and hence increases the chance that the sources are still there after a few years. But on the other hand, we only want purchases from such sources by trustworthy people, so that it why we should not tell all kinds of addresses in public. So, the intent should not be to keep sources secret, but to share sources in a wise and careful manner.

KFC, if you appear to be really trustworthy (depends on your posts and replies in the near future), then people certainly are willing to give you addresses of suppliers. Not through the forum, but through PM.

Explain what you want to do with the chems, what kind of experiments you want.

I like everything pure and clean and not used

Then you'll probably have to pay a premium for sterilized test tubes, as I don't see those very often. On top of that, once you use your test tubes once, you'll have to throw them away, since they're no longer "pure and clean and not used".

I suggest you can donate them to various users of these forums, though.

If you really want to do home chemistry, go for second hand lab equipment. Prices of second hand materials are MUCH lower and for home chemistry it is perfectly suitable. The same is true for chemicals. If you can find an old lab, closing down or disposing of old chemicals, then you're very lucky. Most chemicals are very good, even after tens of years of storage in an old lab. In this way I have obtained many of my chems. Many of them are from old formed GDR-labs for a fraction of the price, which normally would be asked for them.

I What To Get Some Pertty Pure Chemicals At The Dollar Store What Would I Buy?

No chance dude! Even if they had the stuff it would be very impure at that price.

Look for either a specialist store or a store that sells quality items - impurities in some experiments can cause some real nasty side effects :)

It is the same as http://www.kno3.com. This is a somewhat questionable supplier, but my personal experience with them is quite good. There has been a lot of debate about them on the Internet. Some people believe it is a Texas-based anti-meth organization, which sells chemicals (red P!) to individuals and uses the shipping info for finding potential meth-labs. I myself do not believe this story, I'm quite sure this company is UK-based and not Texas-based, but it is true that the web-page is hosted by a Texas-based hosting company.

Do They Except US Dollars?

Last time I checked they did. I also use them and their service is 1st class, can't fault them on their speed and reliability :)

I used the mercury and phosphorus for my collection and I have some spare for experiments too.
