I have to write a comparative essay on the Handmaid's Tale and 1984. I don't really know what to write. Of course i have really finished reading the Handmaid's tale, but i want to pick a topic now so i can look for quotes. So can anyone please help me? postgrep Posted October 7, 2005 Share Posted October 7, 2005 1984 would be pretty straightfoward as It's a plot based on subconcious messages referring to the government(s). Just quote the psychological aspects of it (1+1=3, others) and then quote the "big brother" references (being watched, submitting to one ruler, no freedom, thought police).
