Photo booth help on laptop!

I know this isn't exactly computer science, but I figured a computer scientist could give me tips, the pictures on my laptop come out grainy and ugly. Is there a way I can fix the problem without spending any money?

It's not clear what the whole thread is about..

A webcam built into the laptop was used to take the picture?

or

A 3rd party device was used to take a picture and imported into the laptop (and turned out grainy) ?

 

The built-in cameras in laptops are usually of poor quality, so it is recommended to buy Full HD or even better 4K.. and they need light..

Yes. Good light is essential to have good quality picture. LED is not good because it is only a mixture of R, G and B, not the full spectrum.

At night, when all the incandescent light bulbs are off, when the only thing giving light is the LED screen of a laptop, you will end up with a grainy picture from laptop's webcam..

Yes. Good light is essential to have good quality picture. LED is not good because it is only a mixture of R, G and B, not the full spectrum.

You guys were right it was the lighting, I ended up changing some light bulbs in some lamps from 13w led bulbs to 60w incandescent bulbs, immediately better. I really didn't realize how dim it was I always thought it seemed pretty bright in my apartment, but I guess it wasn't.
