Noah's Flood Reimagined

Synopsis:

Earth is covered in water, then a rouge interstellar dust cloud covers the surface.  Because of Earth's faster rotational rate, centrifugal force keeps this dust layer floating above the water. Earth's water at this time is comprised of a higher percentage of 'heavy water' (D2O). The water's higher density works in conjunction with the centrifugal force to maintain the supercontinent, Pangea. As Earth's rotation slows, finally a point is reached where gravity overcomes the floating supercontinent. The supercontinent fractures, beginning its fall. Fissures break open expelling water from the deep, launching it up to the stratosphere and producing a flood that covers the planet. Chemical reactions between ozone and the heavy water exasperate the deluge. Parts of the supercontinent settle in clumps, forming what will later be continents. These new continents along with the ocean floors become subject to seismic/tectonic activity from the inner Earth. This planetary cataclysm changes the percentage of heavy water. The resultant normal water initiates the hydrologic cycle. Rainbows symbolize the promise not to flood the Earth again.

Any thoughts...

But the mythical "Noah's flood" in the first instant, was only within the recognised "world" at that time (not the whole Earth the majority of which was unknown to Noah and his gang), and that recognised world was around 5000 years ago? while Pangea was around 300 million years ago? give or take....

Why is this in religion? You seem to be making science claims here. Are you prepared to support them?

Give or take what? Noah and his gang was more me today, than I was 300 million year's ago...

Yes: it's all nonsense. I don't know where you got this from, but it's full of arbitrary statements requiring explanation, from beginning to end. To take a few at random:

- What does a "faster" rotation rate mean? Faster than what?

- Why would centrifugal force suspend dust that is floating at the same height as the water surface and not the water as well?

- Why would there be more D2O in the past than today? Deuterium is stable.

- Why would higher density of water, whether in conjunction with centrifugal force or not, affect in any way the "stability" of Pangaea?

- Why would the rotation slow?

And then it gets worse. Hopeless rubbish, really.

More obtuseness:  difficult to comprehend : not clear or precise in thought or expressionIt is also, unfortunately, ill-written, and at times obtuse and often trivial https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/obtuse

Earth at one time certainly did rotate faster, making a day shorter, but it had nothing to do with what you are suggesting. It was due to gravitational interactions with the Moon, which was also closer, perhaps about half its present distance.

Nonsense. The Earth's rotation is continually slowing by a couple of cm's a year, and at the same time, the Moon is increasing its orbital distance from us. This will continue until a day on Earth, is equal to a lunar month, and Earth will always have one side facing the Moon, just as the Moon now has one side facing the Earth. Not to be too concerned, this will not happen until a couple of billion years, which co-incedentlally is around the same time as our Sun will be approaching its red giant phase.

In other words, nothing religious about it at all...just simply science, cosmology, and the known laws of gravity. Everything has a "use by date"

No, just imagining a different scenario; for instance, it's just a story that explains how the bad was washed away and an olive branch could be the path to peace.

You are entitled to imagine whatever you like. But the mythical "Noah's flood" in the first instant, was only within the recognised "world" at that time (not the whole Earth the majority of which was unknown to Noah and his gang), and that recognised world was around 5000 years ago? while Pangea was around 300 million years ago? give or take....

What was Pangea?

From about 280-230 million years ago (Late Paleozoic Era until the Late Triassic), the continent we now know as North America was continuous with Africa, South America, and Europe. They all existed as a single continent called Pangea.

300 million years, give or take.....🥱

Sorry my bad, just read the OP instead of just the topic title...

"Nonsense"..

BTW, in this thread in my post I explained why the Earth could not be flooded entirely to the last tip of the solid surface:

And in this post what was the "global flood of the Earth" in reality (remembered in the myths of ancient people):
