impeachment of trump to stop replacement of RBG

The re-impeachment of trump could and should happen, as there are multiple legitimate offenses to be considered not covered in the first trial. It is my understanding that if the dems on the house side vote again to impeach, the work of congress must stop until impeachment is resolved, one way or another.  This could allow sufficient time to elapse before Trump has her replaced, given the short time to the November election. If our democratic electors claim that there is no recourse to having yet another arch conservative on the court, they are complicit in the further destruction to our democracy in their inaction to do a simple and logical task, and a direct affront to the constitution  they are sworn to uphold.

even if what you say is true, they should do it anyway. There are enough impeachable offenses, to offer a new set of impeachement articles everyday for months.... "I welcome their hate"....Franklin D. Roosevelt

From my limited knowledge, the only hope now is that the Dems tie up the Senate and House in November and vote for 11 SC justices. Is that correct? Also, if Trump loses, wouldn't lots of delayed litigation head Trump's way and distract things?

even if it fails to provide at least some minor protection against a moron fascist who stole the office, it's something to do while we watch him complete his agenda of world destruction. The real question here is why are we humans behaving this way, and does this behavior infer a "sentience entropy"  and this effect is universal and a possible solution to the Fermi paradox. He has access to the nuclear launch codes, and being clearly insane, the removal from office for non compos mentis should apply, regardless of impeachment possibilites.

Feel better now?

This is the kind of stuff that  I was alluding to earlier. Hot off the AP press:

Quote

NY Times: Trump paid $750 in US income taxes in 2016, 2017

President Donald Trump paid no federal income taxes in 10 of the past 15 years, according to a report Sunday in The New York Times.

Trump, who has fiercely guarded his tax filings and is the only president in modern times not to make them public, paid $750 in taxes to the federal government the year he was elected, 2016, and $750 again his first year in office.

The disclosure, which the Times said comes from tax return data it obtained extending over two decades, comes at a pivotal moment ahead of the first presidential debate Tuesday, and weeks before a divisive election.  https://apnews.com/article/archive-personal-taxes-donald-trump-f0e2af5f9f99de9d30dc6b9097121188

A little over the top, Hoola.
Engaging in those kinds of tactics would make the Democrats look as petulant and conniving as the 'retain power at any cost' Republicans.
Remember, the purpose of the exercise is to give the American people a fair and considerate representative Government; not to pull off any dirty trick to win power.

When you can't tell the difference between the two parties anymore, they both become representatives of big Government, and 'outsiders', like D Trump, get elected.

If Trump end up in Prison after leaving the White House it will be unprecedented and trigger Congress to create some type of protocol for what happens. Does a imprisoned former President still get Secret Service protection, National Security briefings, a salary, etc, etc as all former Presidents do? What happens to lifetime appointees of a criminal President should be part of that conversation. I personally think ethically any Federal Attorney or Judge should resign or at a minimum offer to resign.

Trump is a named co-conspirator in Michael Cohen's Felon convictions, Trump has pending Sex Assault cases, Trump tax records potentially open to the door to fraud & tax evasion, etc, etc. Trump very well may end up in prison just based on the information we already have. That is information learned while DOJ and the Senate is protecting him. Once that protection is gone and further investigations are performed, ones Trump can't just refuse subpoenas for or cite executive privilege, Trump may still be charged with obstruction of justice, abuse of power, or worse.

Creating a standard for how law & order well as trust in our public institutions are restore following the imprisonment of a criminal POTUS will be a huge job. A first for the nation. How to handle lifetime appointments made by that criminal simply has to be part of it.
