The overall fatality rate cannot be fully assessed with the data at this time, though as preliminary estimate it tracks around 2-3% which is lower than, e.g. SARS with is caused by a different coronavirus was around 15%, but higher than e.g. seasonal influenza (around 0.15%). Not sure how good this actually is though. Question: in the future, will it be possible to develop vaccines and release them immediately whilst still being safe? Maybe using advanced AI or something.
