The mission will be a pioneering look at the far side of the moon – a region that is forever hidden from the Earth, since we see the same side all of the time. Even messages cannot be relayed easily from that distant area, and it has remained unexplored by any rover.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/china-moon-far-side-dark-change4-landing-time-location-space-craft-a8708186.html

They are aiming Mars in 2020,

Since 2011, the U.S. Congress has prohibited NASA from working with China because of national security concerns.

The great goal of Human kind, colonization of other planet, may lead us to total destruction. What could happened, if one country has a base on Mars, and launch atomic rain on earth, they will survive, and not those country that didn't colonize it...

And don't get me wrong. We need to talk about our behavior in space as more nations and private companies leave the planet, just not in this Science News thread.

In this operation, the most interesting part is the landing of the lunar rover. I hope we will get some images. Those from the long march 3b, lifting up, are incredible. China is now a major power in space colonization run.

I am so glad that China, an economically developed nation, have entered the space race in  such an able manner.  Let's hope that they open up data and pictures to the world in an open and unselfish way. This is a great moment for the whole of humanity - not only China and let's not be small minded here.  Congratulations China!
