Phi for All Posted August 15, 2018 Share Posted August 15, 2018 The average user doesn't know what temperature to use for any given type of cloth, so it's much easier to mark the temperature dial on an iron with "wool" or "cotton". The label tells you what the clothing is made from, and the irons match that. You're suggesting an extra layer of learning that doesn't do much extra for the consumer.
