IMO, it was a huge mistake to allow this given the large straw men in the OP (it's bad enough when someone within a diverse group is taken to be speaking for the group, but for someone outside the group does it, it's usually worse. Liberals should not be proclaiming what conservatives think, or what motivates them, and vice-versa) The second problem, which we've seen in the other thread as well, is having so many talking points, which only leads to confusion.
