Sittin in Hell with Phi sounds a lot better than spending time in Heaven with morons.

Heaven is morons free.. I assure you.. ;)

If somebody cannot create antimatter by himself/herself, is definitely not ready...

Only 'enlighten' can go to heaven..

If you can create entire new Universe, from scratch, you are ready...

... but you don't have to.. you can jump in your newly created parallel Universe instead...

whomever split that all into the trash can go to hell.

I had to read your piratical attempt to commandeer someone else's thread and make it all about YOUR IDEA. Haven't I been through enough?!

There are times when moderator judgement comes into play, but this certainly isn't one of them. It's never going to be OK to force a pet theory as a mainstream solution here, not even in Specuations. That's hijacking someone else's thread, and it's against the rules you agreed to, but haven't obeyed very well.

I think you need a place like this that forces you to be more rigorous and build your ideas methodically, but you want to treat us like all the "anything goes" science discussion sites. I think you need to decide what's best for you. And if you decide to stay here, you will abide by the rules. You will stop melting down about rule enforcement, stop sending malicious PMs, and stop abusing the Report system.

Alternatively, since you've told us all you're leaving, we can shut the door behind you. That will also be a solution.

You know what, For a reason way different than any of this,  I will stay, for only this reason, would you rather have a bunch of people that just blindly accept something as fact or would tell you that you are wrong. Well, honestly the people that would tell you that you are wrong due to the fact that, that it actually takes effort and courage.

I thought you might have taken me on my suggestion to go running but instead it looks like you had a drink. Translation - I can’t make out what you mean.

He's saying the only reason people here so completely and consistently refute his points (as opposed to recognizing how profoundly brilliant and paradigm shifting they truly are) is because we're all bobble-heads blindly following the orthodoxy and we lack enough courage to honestly explore challenges to the system.

He's full of shit, but that's the point he seems to be making.

No, I was saying it takes no thought to blindly accept something, it takes thought and effort to refute something.

I think we see more of what you are saying than vice versa. They cant stomach the scientific consensus so they feel they have to make up their own explanation.

No, I'm leaving because I've essentially been banned for speaking the truth.  It seems most people here only like to see truth when it agrees with their own understanding of science.  Not even simple physics can be accepted when spoken by a "crackpot".

Let me make a few points that at times I have made before in my time on this forum. Of course being an amateur and non scientist you can chose to treat my points with whatever contempt you think they deserve.

[1] This is a science forum. [2] All incumbent scientific theories start out as speculation or hypothetical in nature. [3] As evidence builds up supporting a particular theory, and as it is successfuly making correct predictions, it grows in certainty. [4] All incumbent scientific theories are being continually put to the test everyday. [5] Any person that believes he has some alternative to an incumbent theory, needs to "run the gauntlet" just as any incumbent theory has also run the gauntlet. [6] While science forums such as this are great discussion platforms, no incumbent model will ever be invalidated on any forum, and no alternative hypothetical, will ever displace that incumbent model. [7] There is a professional proper peer review system where any possible alternative hypothetical can be examined, researched, and either  dismissed or accepted. [8] Any accepted model will of course need to explain and model existing observations better then the incumbent model, and/or explain further any limitation of that incumbent model. [9] Forums such as this are in the public domain and therefor open to any and all manner of kooks, cranks, and any number of variety ailments such as "delusions of grandeur" "tall poppy syndrome" "excess baggage and agendas"  including god botherers, that will do whatever is needed to further their personal anti science campaign, as in the main, science has removed their necessity for any deity or god. [10] On most occasions this conglomeration of anti science brigade will have been banned on one or more science forums elsewhere.

And, unlike many "personal theories" presented on science forums, they are based on pre-existing theories and evidence.

I think this is a key point that is often missed. The current "dogma" had to earn its place. And continuously fight to maintain it (your point [4]).

Also worth noting, that the big prizes and fame go to those who challenge and change currently accepted physics.

And, many young students have the same desire to overthrow the status quo as those who present their ideas on science forums. The students are better equipped to do that. Which means they are also better equipped to destroy 99.99% of their own ideas with a little thought and back-of-the-envelope calculation.

I am not a scientist, but I get the impression that this can be just as brutal as the critiques of personal theories on forums like this. If not more so, because they take place with a level of rigour and detail analysis we rarely see here.

Of course, Mach and Gödel would be banished from this place under these conditions.

There is that, too.

Don't believe it. They might get a hard time. But then they did from their peers. (See comment above.)

It's not what you are that matters, it's what you say and how you support it. You don't see the professional specialists here, arguing from authority, and saying "Shut up, I'm a scientist".

I think this is what makes us scientists (amateur), this mindset where you use your head first before following your heart. And we're grateful for the actual working scientists who keep our feet on the path and share the insights they gain from daily implementation of proper methodology.

Yes, they are good tutors for those that will follow their example. It does takes quite long time, as a neophyte, to alter ones approach but it's worth it.

I have learned so much on this forum it's almost embarrassing to think back before the net. I see people who come here wanting to teach us some pet theory and yet refusing to learn the basics of reality. I like all the mods... well except for that James Bond guy :P . Being willing to seek the truth is far more important than claiming to know it...
