A phone harassment

Recommended Posts

What if some group of people who dislike some person will constantly call his phone number and pretend they made mistake and entered a wrong number? And in this way will block any useful calls to or from his phone? Police suppose to investigate a phone harassment cases, but what if people will always pretend they just entered a wrong number?

I didn't understand the last two posts. Who suppose to change or block the phone number and what for? A targeted victim? But a group of harassers will quickly discover his new phone number and everything will start all over again...

Or just block that number.

The person being called should block the number(s) they are calling from.

The police will see through that, if they are calling so often that it is a problem it obviously isn't "accidental".

You They could also report them to the phone company for inappropriate behaviour.

What if harassers will change their numbers often? Usually it doesn't cost a lot to change a phone number. It would be a bit troublesome for a targeted individual to block phone numbers of anyone who dialed a wrong phone number and do it day to day.

What? They would do that just to harrass you? What is going on here? They would be causing more trouble on themselves by doing that than to you.

Living outside the UK, I have discovered that some friends in the UK have adopted the procedure of never actually answering the phone. They check for missed calls and return calls from numbers that they recognize. That explained why when I called old friends they never seemed to be at home. This procedure has been adopted simply because of the number of unwanted sales calls they had.

This works as long as you are the only person who does it. If you return a call to somebody who has the same procedure, you'll never talk to each other.
