is it possible to build this device?

hello and good day everyone i am wondering if it is possible to make a device that uses a electric water pump to fill a electrolysis device which then sends the oxygen into a waterproof helmet and the hydrogen into a tank and also has a motor or generator that is connected to the electrolysis device to ignite excess hydrogen and excess oxygen to produce more power. any tips/ advice or thoughts deeply appreciated. this is one is for use in freshwater. if your going into salt water then there is filter or separator in both lines that transfers the chlorine gas to a third tank.

Part of energy used to do electrolysis is lost, and can be noticed as increased temperature of water.

Hydrogen burning with Oxygen release energy, part of it is absorbed by device body and lost, it can be noticed as increased temperature of device.

The same with electrons going through wires (not superconductor).

If we assume 5% is lost in each cycle as heat,

we can draw such graph:

(to recreate graph make B2=B1*0.95 (or so), then fill entire column)

Sorry, no free energy. You cannot have excessive hydrogen and oxygen, because they will always produce less energy than was used in the electrolysis.

When you seen something like this (which is essentially yet another perpetuum mobile), always remember the laws of thermodynamics; all other calculations are redundant (although perhaps interesting for academic purposes).

Being fair to the OP I don't think he's talking about perpetual motion here Bender. He is talking about a breathing machine for use underwater. He is suggesting that you could use the water to produce oxygen to breath via electrolysis.... the recombination is just some effort to make it more efficient, but it would probably make it a lot more complex and dangerous too.

PS - Out of interest - could you breath the O2 and the H2 purely produced from electrolysis? H2O would yield twice as much Hydrogen than Oxygen (per mole) ... which is about 33 molar percent Oxygen in Hydrogen. Could one breath such a mixture of pure Hydrogen with 33% Oxygen? Air has about 21% O2.... I guess it doesn't matter what the other gasses are (as long as they aren't poisons).

sorry guys i forgot to add that there is a waterproof lithium ion battery in a backpack that powers the electrolysis device and the hydrogen burning generators charges it but even then it probably still would not work.

Partial pressure of oxygen greater than two atmospheres is toxic to humans. Then of course, oxygen and hydrogen present an explosive hazard.

It's far more efficient and infinitely safer to scrub carbon dioxide then re-breathe the air.
