  1. Is there a way to figure out the escape velocity of virtual particles? What causes them to surpass their escape velocity?why? What exactly are virtual particles? I started a thread on this same subject on another forum, but no one seemed to know what exactly virtual particles are. I learned that they were involved in quantum field theory, and they were mathematical solutions for something. :help: :feedback:
  2. OH! OH! I love multiuniverse theory (which is basically parallel universes)! Richard Feyman came up with it you know. It can be used to exlplain several paradoxes like the Grandfather Paradox.
  3. Oh my, there is no need to argue with one another. Fafalone, will you be so kind as to explain why v(t) is absurd? I sort of get your point, but just to be sure, I'd like to know.
  4. Multiple History theory is the key to my solution. When you leave now, and you return before you left, you are not returning to the same history, but another one because when you come back, you are changing the past. This directly calls for a new history to arise. (history=parallel universe. I think history is more of a discriptive word). So provided you return in a different history in the past, it is not paradoxical.

  6. I agree with Fafalone. You seem to have no knowledge of Lorenz transformations in particular. Yes, we are traveling at c, and we are not. It depends on your frame of reference. Each perspective is relative; to us, we are not traveling fast. From an external observer's point of view, we are traveling fast. Another thing to consider is that traveling at c is paradoxical because if you start traveling at c (esp. c+), you will return before you left. I have a solution to this paradox. If anyone's willing to here it, I'll be more than happy to type it up(not a long solution, I assure you).

I explained (in short) the uncertainty principle, wave/particle duality, and the wave function. Then, the climax: Schrodinger's equation. aye, aye!! I just know I'm goint to be embarassed!! I don't think this is good enough at all. I mean, does this even sound like steps to do something? not to me, it doesn't.:bs: (oh no, I said a bad word!!)<--a bit of humour there...
  15. I know what you mean Greg(you're from PFs, right!!??So am I!). I am 13, 5'4 and still weigh 90-95 pounds. My sisters are slightly older than you, and weigh the same as me. I have two explanations for this: good metabolism(in short) or it's just hereditary.
  16. My teacher is already impressed. He gave me $16 from Honduras, since I pointed out that I collect money from around the world. And I have an intuitive feeling teachers are passing on this "impressed feeling" without my knowledge, for the other day, my math teacher wrote a Kenetics problem on the board, and called me to help him solve it. I don't want to be teacher's pet! last year...oh I don't want to remember.... Anway, Radical Edward, I'm afraid I don't fully understand your scenario. I like the wave/particle duality idea! here's my idea: I was just thinking of going straight forward and talking about the uncertainty principle, wave functions, and wave/particle duality and how you use that to find a wave function of a particle. The aim is to have steps on how to do something. What do you think of that plan? Is it captivating? note: my emergency project is on motor cycles.
  17. okay, then. it'll be a bit embarassing though; I always get remarks about how I shouldn't be in 7th grade(although they are only "half" right; i take a college course or 2 over the summer...). But I need your help on organizing it; I haven't a clue of how to organize it, so that they'd be able to understand.

  19. It's for a 7th grade class. I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't do something on QM(quantum mechanics). After all, I should be a cool nerd and do something on motor cycles or something. ideas? anything COOL would do(from a 7th graders' point of view; the QM idea was pretty cool to me)

  21. I am doing a presentation on a how to measure the wave function of a particle. I chose to do this, since I couldn't think of anything else but time travel. Anyway, do you think it would be feasible to describe how to measure the wave function of a particle in 10 slides? I think maybe 2 or 3 slides (i.e., Power Point slides) would be ideal, but I have to have 10. How about time travel? what 10 steps are there, to time travel...say to the future? the past?

  23. ahh, and the tachyon paradox states that superluminal travel is impossible. For one, a particle would need infinite energy to travel faster than light. For example, a tachyon would continuously loose its (?)negative energy(?) and go even faster than before. eventually, it would reach transcendence etc. here's a quote:

  25. What about mutliple histories[theory]? this might be able to "cancel out" some, if not all, the paradoxical consiquences of time travel.
