  1. hey that seems cool and all but what if it's a language that people in your geographical location don't speak i.e there are no french restaurants or it's a dead language like latin? there are situations where books are the only option

  7. ΔT is used to represent the temperature difference in kelvin (for heat capacity c = energy change divided by temperature difference in kelvin.) can the formula use degrees celsius or do you HAVE to convert to kelvin?
  8. sorry i just needed to see that up there for the second time
  9. it should tell me that i dont understand the concept of specific heat capacity hence i'm on the internet like a lost soul looking for help
  10. i think it depends on the person although i doubt you could ever be fluent in the language using those methods. i have friends who know japanese pretty well ( by pretty well i mean they know the basics and have a good vocab) through anime. When i didn't want to study for Spanish i listen to Spanish songs and i am convinced that i learnt more from lady gaga songs than online... so i guess it's all about your approach.
  11. hey does anyone know any highschool study groups/ how to get in touch with a study group or how to form one? i think it's a good idea but i don't know where to start or where to go, so please i need some help and suggestions..
  12. how do you calculate specific heat capacity? if you can work an example that would be great!
  13. The point is that it is cruel to assume that a fetus will not regret being disabled when it is born. It went from nonexistence (no feelings whatsoever) immediately to a state of deprivation. It would not be "less than human" but it would have less potential and less opportunities. it's equally cruel to assume that it will have regrets and it won't have good friends, good times, hopes, dreams... it deserves a chance. Less potential and less opportunities ( debatable) but opportunities none the less.
  14. that is the question no one is answering!!!!!!!! In this particular case guys and girls should have a seperate road or hallway. the reason - they might get molested by some random creep. dosn't make much sense to me - is there some unwritten rule some where that says all creeps are males? i mean really, isn't that a violation of human rights or equality or something. Isn't that implying that females are the lesser gender (aren't capable of taking a walk down the block because they are "weak"). What next - take the females and put them in a bubble 'for their protection'. Isn't there laws against such things (At least in the U.S or UK)
  15. whatever happens to freedom of choice and do you believe suicide is wrong? here is the connection - the unborn child dosn't have rights, feelings whatever... Your argument is that fetus should not be born because it may have a horrid life and feel pain. (correct me when I go wrong ) Dosn't everyone feel pain at some point in their life and don't we all have days when we feel horrid? True the person may not have a long life and true they may not be 100% happy or healthy, but who is. No one lives forever, no matter how healthy they are. Shouldn't a person have the choice to live their life? if their is a chance of happiness, shouldn't they be allowed to discover it? people with disabilities aren't less human than we are. A fetus can't make choices but a person can, they may end up living a wonderful life and loving themselves or they can curse the day that they were born and hope to end their life (but would THAT be right).
  16. i have always heard stories of some countries which have seperate roads and so on for men and women. is this considered sexist? if both sexs are equal why cant they walk down the same road or same hallway... I heard someone say this was to 'protect' them (females). I would like to hear your opinions and would like more information on the whole 'seperate facilities' thing and its link with sexism. It's a debate so i need a few pointers (and i'm honestly outraged)
  17. some where on this site (I can't remember where) there was a post on allergies being connected to immunization. Can someone help me find that post or give me more info on the topic.
