  1. I know it's lazy of me but can anyone give me a link to someplace I can get tables to determine the mass of a star vs it's brightness?

      For that range, you can use the estimate of  L/Ls = (M/Ms)^4,  where Ls is the luminosity of the Sun and Ms is the mass of the Sun.   75% the luminosity gives 93% the mass.

      Thanks @Janus, it surprised me how fast luminosity drops off with such a small decrease in mass. Can the life time of the star on the main sequence be figured from the mass being 93%?
