  1. That I don't know but there are companies that do. http://stopnestlewaters.org/communities/mecosta-county-mi No they are water shortages based on where you are. There is little water in the desert for example but globally there is just as much water. In fact with the supposed melting of the polar ice caps there should be even more water than usual. Hydrogen and oxygen are basic elements we can only really get rid of them by nuclear fusion(which is why depending on nuclear fusion for power is a bad idea.). Most of the places you listed are equatorial which is to be expected as a result of global warming. It's like gold we always have the same amount of gold. Yet it increases in price because lets face it we like playing with toys and we don't like cleaning up after ourselves. Too many people results in water shortages(lowering of water tables) and also pollution. Less people using oil would not be a problem because the earth produces oil over time anyway. However we use too much oil over time and we run out.etc etc etc. fact is our fossil fuels are renewable we just use too much of them. See around here people used to mine fossil fuels by hand. Did so for thousands of years then it is mechanized and we run out.
  2. Lets face it globally we have too high a population. I can't see a water shortage though there is plenty of water. What I do see is a bunch of greedy corporations lowering water tables and forcing people to buy their water instead of use their own wells. Fact is that unless water is used in nuclear fusion there is still just as much water as there ever was.
  3. Not to a cluster bombing of fake rockets. Essentially speaking iron dome is a very costly base defense. They have a limited number of missiles to defend themselves with and have to intercept as many rockets as possible. You just keep hitting them with fake rockets then when they seem to run out launch a cluster of real/fake rockets. Or just the ordinary http://www.cleveland.com/world/index.ssf/2008/12/92_nations_sign_treaty_to_ban.html Isreal is using http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Iron_Dome_near_Sderot.jpg which hold approx 20 missiles each. So all you need is a decent count. Say there is 10 of them then you need 200+ rockets. They will have to reload and well... At the moment they have drawn out firing the 2,319 rockets over days however if they fired them all in one volley they would have been way more effective. As you can see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel,_2014 the strikes are fairly spread out never more than 200 a day. Where as they should be firing that many within 10 minutes, Take a look at the day 197 rockets were fired "141 of them hit Israel, and an additional 44 were intercepted by Iron Dome." Currently iron dome strikes any target on radar that appears to be heading towards population centers. But it has zero ways of distinguishing between fake and real rockets. There is also the problem of rockets that do not appear on radar because iron dome won't see them.
  4. Well yeah but an autoclave is really just using really hot boiled water 121 °C for around 15–20 minutes so basically boiled under pressure http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoclave Realistically speaking an autoclave is a pressure cooker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure_cooking A really good steel pressure cooker would probably do a better job than the more modern autoclave.
  5. You could kill off the bacteria by boiling then add the nitrosomonas bacteria when you are sure the medium is sterile. Preety much everything has something undesirable to start off with.
  6. Ah no because letting the ice melt would cause leaks. My carpet wouldn't like that. I have yet to meet 18th Century time travellers
  7. Do you have any idea what the original voltage of the power supply was? They tend not to tell you. I mean an advert here tells me its "The 770Z5E ships with a compact 90 W power adapter" to the adapter but from the adapter to the computer there is a voltage drop.
  8. Shit ... well sewage actually, wastewater. Lots of ammonia makes its way into river etc. Its actually a big problem but you could probably use that ammonia to culture nitrosomonas bacteria. You need to use aerobic respiration as the culture will grow faster. Which means you need to pump oxygen through the shit. Ammonia in rivers also comes from fertilisers spread on fields too close to water sources and unfortunately it is extremely toxic to fish and other aquatic life.It is a very common pollutant and can often make its way into the human food supply. When we eat lots of polluted fish we can become sick.
  9. Legend grandaddy used to do that. Yeast makes alcohol by the way in anaerobic conditions(without oxygen). What exactly do you grow? there is various whiskeys and wines that keep for years. Though that's not beer really. But supposedly there is a market for wine at the moment. If it is any good. If you aren't making alcohol then I guess so. There are many cost-effective trade-secret ways of maintaining a yeast culture, I suggest you learn one. You are incredibly small-scale so. It gets cheaper.
  10. Then we put a cat on mars and call it an alien. Well technically the cat's kittens but it would have to have them on mars. Therefore the kittens aren't from earth and are aliens.
  11. The idea of app-indexing is fairly simplistic. Google made android so they have an idea of android native file system. Have a look at this code for internet explorer on windows as an example of what they are doing. This should help you understand the basic concepts. <script type="text/javascript"> function runNotepad() { var Shell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); Shell.Run("%WINDIR%\\notepad.exe"); } </script> <a href="#" onclick="runNotepad(); return false;">Run Notepad</a> So the app-indexing idea works the same way the app is stored on your phone in a set location. You point your link to the executable file and you can pass command-line parameters as well. For what that executable will do. Seems too easy for peeps to mess with if you ask me.
  12. Setting up the lan game is fairly straight forward install the game. Then host lan game. Which is ethernet/router and have the other ppl on your router search for your game. Please note that depending on your OS results can vary. I know on windows I had to add the other computer to my homegroup otherwise they won't find your game. You should be able to access other computers files on the network. If it shows the computer but you cannot access files it isn't configured correctly. I doubt it will be much trouble.
  13. They should at least know "If I am traveling 80 miles away at 80mph, how long will it take to reach my destination?" ie one hour. They should also know that "if each 8 miles uses an imperial(uk) gallon of petrol how many liters of petrol will it take to reach my destination?" One gallon is 4.54609 liters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallon therefore 10 imperial gallons is 45.4609 liters. They should also know the difference between an imperial(uk) gallon and a us gallon. The us gallon is 3.785411784 litres, They should also know whether their cars manufacturer used the us measurement or the uk measurement of a gallon.
  14. Well all I would do is buy a few textbooks no point going to college if you want to make a nuke that's easy. But I can understand Norway.
  15. You can also use Wi-fi . Had a four player diablo 2 server running at one point. Also are you sure you can use the internet? Realistically speaking you can only host if your isp allows you to. Alternatively you can be the isp buy your own servers, routers and cables, ip blocks but that's really really expensive. Also you need to buy ipv4 adresses second hand sometimes they are auctioned off. They still sell ipv6 adresses. Ip adresses are not by location they are by whichever isp owns a perticular ip block. I don't think you can buy just 2 adresses. When you connect to the internet most of the time you are assigned an ipv4 address or public ip for accessing the internet. This is rented from the isp you don't own it. So technically speaking you need the isp's permission to host anything. If your isp doesn't allow you to host you can buy a static ip from an isp that provides gaming servers etc. So the ipv4 they own are rented to you. Again you need two ipv4 address but they generally do that for you. If you want you can also rent a tld domain name. Like .org .com .net .biz etc. Some don't charge for instance my country allows ppl to use tld names provided they own a business which is free. But you still need ipv4 addresses. Now since ipv4 adresses are finite not everybody can have an ipv4 address recently in china they ran out. So basically they owned no more ipv4 addresses and could not give a certain fraction of the population internet access. This is also why you can't use your standard ipv4 address and need static ip which was reserved for gaming server.
  16. A neurologist may know everything about neurology. But may not know how to make an electrocardiogram. In fact in one country they had a load of sophisticated computers not a single doctor could repair so they had to get rid of them.
  17. Why book burning of course http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_burning . i.e. the willful destruction of information usually for censorship etc. We can easily forget how we make everything. There was a time even owning a physics book would get you killed witches they used to say. Consorting with the devil all sorts of madness. Then of course there was the idea that only the rich could be educated so poor people were not allowed to own books.
  18. This is my tutorial on webpage design. When designing your webpages zoom is no longer the issue because zoom often means you view a page on a phone which is < 900px etc. This is viewable in ie if you view the page the text goes messy because I like to make an individual stylesheet for a phone. <style> <?php $a=0; $b=1; while($a<11000){ echo " @media all and (min-width:{$a}px) {a{ font-size:{$b}px; text-decoration:none; word-spacing:0px; outline:0px; text-shadow:0px; display:inline; background:none; position:absolute; font-weight:bold; top:1%; left:1%; }}"; $a=$a+200; $b=$b+5; } ?> </style> <a href="#">Company Name Here</a> Now that code is php. It will generate the code you want by itself but it is slow to generate. So you locally host the page. Then when the page is loaded and looks okay you click save as on internet explorer and you get the complete css stylesheet with no php. Easy Right Now the main thing is this is programmed by algorithm in stages so it can be fuzzy. If you want a better stylesheet half both values etc. 11000px is the maximum zoom out value on all browsers. Well some stop at 4000 but you know what I mean. It must be a really big flatscreen. To program for a phone make your stylesheet everything centered and relative width then add <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, minimum-scale=1, user-scalable=no"> to the page header. This means the phone won't scale the page.
  19. That depends on what you are washing. Also winter can kill depending on how cold the house gets and pipes burst which can mean no working toilet and/or running water. We went away for two weeks one winter and the whole tank http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballcock froze solid and had to be replaced. We had to get pickaxes into the attic to break the ice into small chunks and drag them downstairs before we could do anything. Also some bacteria can survive being washed in cold water. That endy is quite neat.
  20. Those are really cool. You are familiar with most of the basic openGL etc concepts I hope. I saw three that I liked so. The first is an interactive bat mobile https://www.batmanarkhamknight.com/en_US/batmobile. The second is a car picker of a number of different cars and you can change the color etc http://carvisualizer.plus360degrees.com/threejs/ the third is a three dimensional earth with cities etc http://www.webglearth.com/#ll=11.47397,-1.65209;alt=5978915
  21. Roofs around here aren't flat. Most are a less than 45° angled point. But they are a popular option all the same. You are saying however that all I would need to do is angle the solar panels on the tower? All government buildings already have immersion heaters.
  22. Well the turbine towers are fairly oddly shaped and buying solar panels can be really expensive because they have to be imported. Also we have a time frame of about 27 years before we run out of fossil fuels. Thing is that the country has not been profitable lately and well frankly we are worried we wont be able to both ensure we are making money and provide heated water to the pharmaceutical industry which makes many of those nice vaccines you hear about.
  23. We have wind power generators here which are skyscrapers pretty much but I want to know if it is possible to convert the already exsisting towers hull into solar panelling to provide heated water to the surrounding villages which currently run on water heated by dwindling fossil fuels.
  24. http://www.biology-o...ry/Living_thing It isn't their work and no citation of where they got it from. Plagiarism involves copying another students work or a book I did neither. Since I am not in school. It is also in reference to DMCA which I am not bound by. DMCA applies to the US not all states and not outside it, If I were to use Princton's definition Princeton perceives plagiarism as the "deliberate" use of "someone else's language, ideas, or other original (not common-knowledge) material without acknowledging its source." Since the source of most textbook definitions is unknown you cannot acknowledge the source. Unless the US knows the "real" source. Also http://librarycopyright.net/resources/exemptions/index.php The US provides exemptions to copyright law for teachers in a not for profit environment. So eh not plagiarism I have not asked for money. I have also not claimed I was the original author of said work.
  25. It's a standard definition phi that's like saying don't ever go to school because all you do in school is copy others. I know what follow your own advice and do nothing your entire life. I suppose i'd have to cite the ppl who made youtube, the adobe corporation, the corporation who made the video camera the original definition I have no clue where it's from I think the guy's dead. There's the people who made html. Oh and the people who made the forum software.
