  1. SFN,

I feel as though I'm talking to a wall most of the time. Most of my interactions are confrontational, and rarely can there be disagreement without bitterness. I've felt a few of the more regular members have disapproved of my existence since I started. I'll try to stay gone this time . . . .

  2. . . . . it's hard to find a comfortable place to be social when you are as anti social as I am. Maybe a few who have left as a cause of my horrible attitude will return after I'm gone. Flourish and all . . .

  3. It looks like something we played at film school, but I don't remember the name. This does look way cooler though . . . Will definitely grab it off of steam! :D

  4. Pulling out the engine, dusting it off . . . Was going to move it over to ATL but am reviewing this decision. Need to finish the frames foundation classes and widget objects library . . . . slow and maybe steady, maybe not! ¯\(°_0)/¯

  5. I really enjoyed this

Am I the responsible party that set the precedent for this kind of behavior on the statuses column?

I don't think either of us has caused offence. If you suspect someone is annoyed or upset you can go to their profile and see if they have left a comment on their "about me " tab.

  8. Thanks zapatos . . . just to be clear my statement below isn't directly tied to anything said in any of those posts and is more a consequence of my experiences with how people in general approach what they consider moral values and how it can affect me personally. I have no contempt for any of the posters on the forum.

Young men can be competitive and aggressive. Mature men often find an outlet in sport (e.g. gliding). Older men find competition in more gentle ways (e.g. competition chess). Unfortunately we all end up Grumpy Old Men. With a bit of luck we can avoid actual violence. I guess that's life!D

  10. Hi my name is malicious and self-embittered, and I will be slapping around anyone who doesn't meet my approval today. What, you are defying The Laws? Off with your head! You had best read the book or between the lines my dear as surely you do not want to spend your life spat on by a good majority of the social public. Thank you for occupying space on my planet, please come again.

That would be interesting and challenging at the same time. I would suppose that the easiest automaton musician to create would be the drummer. You can use drum triggers to monitor which drum / symbol was hit to provide feedback into the system. However, it would be a lot harder to create automata that can play stringed instruments. Not only would you have to construct a hand that could apply pressure to the strings, but also synchronize the other hand for bowing / plucking the strings. I...

I notice this thread disappeared from the home page shortly after my post. I hope you didn't think I was taking the Mickey. Your mention of Scottish accent and haggis brought to mind Rabbie Burns Scottish poem "Address to a Haggis". I thought it might be a bit of fun. As you know, I have a rather strange sense of humour!

Well, I have to show my ignorance-particularly as I like fish! So it's no and no! I guess I lead a simple life where food is concerned and rarely ,for example, have starters. I've always seen caviar as a luxury that we could do without.

    3. Xittenn

      Xittenn

Beluga caviar is non sustainable and is something that people should generally avoid. I don't see caviar from sustainable sources as a problem.

    4. Joatmon

      Joatmon

Nor do I. The "we" I used meant my wife and I. We can do without it as it's rather expensive.

  16. 36 hours until first term completion. The first thing I will do is buy a bottle of wine get pissed and go on a code-a-thon. I hope to at the very least do an overview of the 'self generating darrieus windmill' and why we don't use the earths magnetic field in these forms of generators during my 12 days off.

I suppose we must always think of the future as made of possibilities. Although we can plan towards making the possibilities strong, we can never make them certain.

Seeing a certain someones post I feel really bad for being open about my feelings online. I am the same way with people here as I am in real life. When I do express my faults outwardly people seem to feel more comfortable about talking about themselves with me. This usually leads to some pretty interesting conversations. This might not be such a great idea here . . . but then I feel like I have to close myself off. I really wish I could find a good mix where I don't feel ...
