  1. Bad news, my step mom suffered a home invasion, not only did they beat her up they burned down her house. Onlookers were able to drag her out of the house. To make matters worse my dad died, I'm having problems getting information at this time since my step mom and my dad were my only source of info...

      Have just read this now

      Moontanman,

Sorry to hear of your loss and the invasion of your stepmother's house. As long as there is breath in a body and a will to carry on, people inevitably do...

We can only give our good feelings to you and I will pray for your troubles to decrease.  Please realise that there is always light at the end of this tunnel.

      Keep hope alive!

  2. Now retired early after 22 years of Science teaching.  Emotional farewell to classes last week. No time for leisure - bills still have to be paid!

Thank  you zapatos. I went back to the school today just to look at it and remember all the fun experiments I did there.  It was my chance to say goodbye but I still felt a tug to the heartstrings.  I will be now hanging my "arse out of the window" as they say in Scotland by going into the tutoring business.

  3. My cousin Jeff Stewart died this morning. Jeff was more than a cousin, he was my brother in so many ways, the way only a real brother can be. One of the few people I have ever known who was basically a good person no matter what situation he found himself in. It's difficult to wrap my head around the fact a world can exist without Jeff in it.

I love this poem.  However, you do understand why people i a Science forum may be opposed to your views on death as a new beginning...

  6. I'm basically set for life now, and I find that it's not all that fun. I've lost a lot of motivation to keep going higher.

That sounds a bit sad, mate.  What's the problem? There are always postgrad courses to aspire to...

Thank you guys - I feel positive and happy.  Age is a number and I don't feel like I am an old grandad and the best part is that I get to hand her over to her real parents after playing with her.  Bliss! Zapatos and Moontanman, good luck when you join the grandad club, I cannot describe this feeling completely.

The answer is always within yourself.  Circumstances do not create feelings.  Feelings are caused b thought in the moment.  Release your negative thoughts and then clear your mind.  Thoughts in the moment can be released with ease. You have infinite potential!

Absolutely true. In my lifetime I have seen this thousands of times. All it takes is for each person to do a little. For example, not walking past people in trouble but to try to help them out. Even a kind comment suffices...

Men's rights my ass! Women are never given the equality they deserve in democracy because of the dominance of white, middle class males in middle and top management positions. Let's get women equal before we think of men.
