  1. all things are attracted to gravitational pulls, the gases dont "stick", so it seems like they are not being attracted. also because we dont realy feel 'cause our lungs have atmosphere pressure on the inside

  2. pretty sure arrows can penetrate kevlar a little bit. kevlar stops bullets not because of its hardness, but because it can absorb rapid shocks, which are found upon bullet impacts

arrows are far lesser energetic than bullets by the way, notice how arrows follow curves and bullets go almost straight line, also bullets are pretty round-tipped where as arrows are sharp tipped. This shows how much weaker arrows are

    I hope this helps ^_^

  3. It's not yellow, it's a bit reddish on the charts. Our eyes decipher it as white if we ever look at it from space with some strong UV sun glasses.

The yellow appearance is largely caused by the elimination of some blue from the blue sky.

    There, perfect answer above.

  4. the origin of gravity or the cause of gravity probably can never be explained. I mean, even if we attempt to explain it, the explaination often ends up being the preset justification for its existance, which is not really an explaination.

  5. can we store static electricity in any form like with the help of rechargeable batteries, if possible pl let me know how?

static electricity is electricity lol caused from rubbing and other causes, not any different from regular electricity

  6. Going on the guiding principle that I was taught (O level here) that elements try to attain a noble gas electronic configuration in any reaction why does hydrogen give it's electron up rather than try to gain one to have two like helium? What property tips it that way?

I learned in high school it's called electronegativity. Hydrogen has a high electronnegativity thus tends to be more an electron donor.

  7. would it be possible, if some incentive for higher iq individuals to have more children while dissuading lower iq individuals from having as many that we could create a selective pressure towards higher intelligence?

it seems like we should try to better the species and help future generations.

**edit "smarter people" the thread name was meant to be "Smarter People?"

so if a friendly mod happens to see this please change it.

Are you saying the low IQ people in this country are being too relaxed? That I agree.

  8. When someone is suicidal they want their life to end, are not sane, and are usually baker acted which I think should happen for their own good. What if someone is suicidal but doesn't want to kill themselves?

That is how I feel although subconsciously I'm sure the will to live has a lot to do with why I am still here. Anyways when I think of death; to me it is not the end. Although I am agnostic and believe the person I am will cease to exist one day, in a way this is heaven to me.

To be immortal in my eyes, is a curse.

Let me give you some information as to why I view eternal life as hell.

I constantly worry about the world and others well being more than I do my own. So much in fact, that when thinking about children in Africa; I can't help but cry. Not just tears but that kind of crying where the back of your throat hurts. I remember my childhood and how lonely I felt watching my parents hurt each other and use drugs. I did not have it easy at all but in comparison to children in say Somalia, My childhood was a walk in the park. Their pain is much worse than mine was, and knowing that human beings even children are going through worse than what I dealt with at such a young age is unbearable to me.

I constantly worry and fret about humanity today and its future. Killing my braincells has eased my thinking and allowed me to relax some, although when I start college I will sober up as I need to retain as much information as possible.

I want to be a benefit to society, even if I do something insignificant and my name is never known. If I can prevent one person from living a horrible poverty stricken life, Its what I want to do more than anything. Make sure nobody ever has to go through what I did.

One day being able to help people and not walking out on my family are the main reasons I think I'm still here. I have never tried to kill myself, but I look at death as eternal peace. When I wake up in the morning it just feels like I'm being stripped away from any peace I can get, and thrown into this rough cruel world.

I will live my life to the fullest, but when death comes. I will embrace it with open arms.

I personally have attempted to kill myself 39.2 times so I could travel to a parallel universe where I shall be the president there.

Unfortuantely due to my property of being indestructable, all attempts failed. My next plan is to fire high velocity protons at me in hope of destroying my plasma shield with its kinetic energy and tiny shape.

Joking. Suicide is in my opinion bad, because a lot of real bad people never think about suicide. By commiting suicide, one really lets the worms win, which is usually against the purpose of commiting suicide anyways - which is to relieve pain.

  9. Yes the person wouldn't feel anything.

In the case of a person in orbit (feeling of weightlessness) vs a person under 0 net acceleration from gravity are different. A human dies under 0 gravity I believe, especially adults. Either instantly due to blood over-rushing to brain and oxygen delivery problems or a slow death from indigestion due to severe endless dizziness.

  10. I feel that teaching methods of Science today is too theoretical. There is not too much emphasis on practicals. And we are not told much about the scientific method ( the cornerstone of science ). Science in school has become too boring and dry I feel. Should the way of teaching be changed, what are your thoughts ?

( I have experience with the Indian Education system only as I live in India, but, I think the world prevails worldwide. Correct me if i'm wrong. )

Yes it is getting into a big problem worldwide. I been to schools in Nanjing China and Canada, both have some flaws in them. The science classes in china were too focused on equations not the practical uses behind them and the canadian schools tend to focus on the underachievers ONLY.
