I like the idea of using a Mass driver wrapped around the moon to launch a space ship if it is going all the way arountd the moon then it doesent have to accelerate uber fast you could probily have it accelerate safely at over 1g and you could theoreticly have it accelerate to over 1/2 C. and then launch without problems the olny one I could think of is the ship pulling away from the center of the moon too much. How long would it take something to accelerate to 1/2 C at 1-2 g?

For the parachute you need to look at model rockets avaible at a hobby shop. You should be able to find a cheap one ie 10-20$ and get a good idea of how the mechanism works.

Can EM "stuff" ie light and radio waves travel "faster than we have observed is the speed always constant? For EM is there any acceleration or deceleration?

Well I would reccommend having a PC motherbord custom made unless you have the prints for the xbox. What I would do is Put the xbox in a backpack and play on a Mini DVD player

Well i rember reading in pop sci or mech that there is a guy that turns consoles like n 64 into playable handhelds you may want to run a search and see what u find. I wish i could give you more detailes.

It doesen't have a vid card but I can put one in temporally to set it up for what ever. It is a PII 233 and has a 120 GB hard drive with XP or 98 SE installed (not yet but ill be putting one in. I want to hook it up to my home network and be able to access my hard drive from all the computers on the network and I hope I'll be able to access the files from anywere ie school. Firstly is what I want to do possible? What security is avaible ie acessing the hd from the internet requires a password. Finnally My router has capeablity to connect four computers to the internet (one port for cable modem and 4 for computers) There are allready 4 hooked up. The PII has two ethernet cards so should I hook it up between the router and cabel modem or the router and a computer?

Well the power grid here (montreal) went out it does frequently and Hydro Quebec doesen't bother preaparing cause it is too expnsive but their response teams work fast olny took zthem 3 hours to isolate and fix the problems. Power outages are frequent (monthly at highest) but short even in storm conditions.

This could be solved by having seprate lines.
