  1. Why not use a hosting service as cheap as some of the rates are now? You can get better bandwidth for the money than you can get from your ISP.

I agree. Hosting services are really cheap these days. Plus you'll get the perks of better service and availability

  2. Right, that makes sense.

I used to Ctrl-tab, but I usually like to see how my CPU and RAM are doing if I'm playing a game...just a morbid curiosity.

I just can't really stand the whole 'social' thing...if that makes sense.

SFN is really the only thing that I do in which I choose to interact with people, outside of school... as you can most likely guess, I'm not a very social person.

wow.. so you never IRC? chatting with others while only? just foruming if you want talk something about?:doh:

  3. That's rather odd...a sort of similiar thing used to happen to me a while ago with a different game, it helped to ctr alt dlt when ever I heard the IM sound, so I could control the minimizing.

Although I smarted up eventually and stopped using IM entirely...what a stupid program.

ctrl+alt+del, i did when i want to close any hang programs. but never do that when I played game. I prefer ctrl+tab to go to desktop.

*just put on "Do Not Disturb" mode and never change the status till now ;);) .

  4. I was talking about Vista. Under XP you go to the General tab and if it's a 64-bit version of Windows it will say so up at the top under "System". 32-bit systems don't say so.

owh..sorry my bad  ...anyway, thanks for your information.. :)

  5. It's displayed in the System control panel applet. Go to the Start Menu and open the Control Panel, then double-click on "System". It shows under "System Type", about halfway down the panel, as either "32-bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System".

Bear in mind that a 64-bit operating system will only run on a processor designed for it. Switching to 64-bit can also introduce application and driver compatibility issues. (In fact you have to get all 64-bit drivers for your peripherals.)

which one? why I cant find it? only got

General, Computer Name, Hardware, Advanced, System Restore, Automatic Updates and Remotes tab only...:confused:

  6. Three systems running full time here, and I can't remember the last time I had a virus. At least ten, twelve years.

three systems running at the same times? does it stack or not? or I'm just a newbie who dont know that our OS support many anti virus at the same times :doh:.

  7. you can buy machine upgradable to 8GB. i've seen a few. (though they are still sold with a 32-bit OS for some reason)

how we want to know either our OS in 32-bits or 64bits? sorry, I'm quite noob.

  8. I'll buy more. I believe all three major operating systems need to be supported by the professional and scientific computer base (power users, developers, etc).

What's useful is to have these three entities (Apple, Microsoft and Linux) playing off one another with all these interface improvements. Apple's not operating in an intellectual vacuum, you know. They're watching Microsoft and Microsoft is watching them (and they're both watching KDE/Gnome, but they seem to be lagging behind). So while it's certainly true that many improvements in Vista are based on OSX, the reverse is also the case, and OSX wouldn't look as good as it does without that competition.

Incidentally, if you ignore the ridiculous driver issues and and interface slip-ups, and look solely at the mechanical underpinnings (kernel changes), Vista is a far better operating system than XP. It manages memory far better than XP, for example. No way I would switch from Vista to XP. Vista to Linux, Vista to OSX, you bet. But Vista to XP? That's a big step back.

I got your point here. Vista is upgrade/update for XP (but totally different). So why everyone look behind and proud with it (XP).

Anyway, I'll stick with XP before change to Linux or Apple platform soon.

  9. Most computer systems today are built with 2gb. Most power users and developer types are inching towards 4gb systems, but of course that requires a 64-bit OS for full utilization.

yeah, I agreed with you.. only low spec pc built with 512mb spec nowadays. All new pc spec built with minimum 1gb RAM. and upgradeable to 4gb max.

  10. Just one more clarification. Your computer is restarting, or did you mean just the monitor?

Just one more clarification. Your computer is restarting, or did you mean just the monitor?

    PC.... not monitor only...

  11. Does the game minimize to the taskbar when you get an IM message, or something like that?

this isn't a real fix, but why don't you just stay signed out when you're playing the game.

No more minimize to taskbar, just blank and then restart, I thought it should be PSU problems.

When the problems happened about 3 to 5 times, I signed out or put in Do Not Disturb before playing games, but I do business to take care off :-(:-(.

  12. I'll stay with XP rather than use Vista.

even though Vista is the latest Windows OS but I love to use XP - user friendly.

Vista - if you got low spec rig, you'll problem, loading at startup totally slow. please upgrade your ram, processor and graphic to make sure your pc/laptop can run Vista smoothly.

  13. currently I used 17" LCD screen.

I play game (war craft), and at the same time I run IM such as skype and YM.

The problem is, my display suddenly blank (while I'm in game) when IM popup come out. It should be go to windows (normal) but right now nothing happened, just blank and then shut down.:doh:

    Help me please...
