  1. Anyone else like time travel shows? Have you watched "Travelers" on Netflix?

      Yeah and I like it!

  2. Taking my wife in for a hip replacement this morning wish her luck!

I wish you and your wife the best of luck. I know how painful this operation is first hand and I do hope that her experience is better than mine.

  3. Well, they're gonna cut me up me tomorrow. Wish me luck or break a leg or that the neuro-surgeon will be sober. Come to think of it, if he will be sober he might have shaky hands :P Anyway, I hope the knife will not slip and sever my spinal cord.

Sorry to hear that Arete. I almost lost my house to a fire back in 2010. So, I know what you are going through. I'm glad you and your family are safe, and I hope that your home and all of your belonging are safe too.

  5. Let's put all the Anti-vaccers, Flat Earthers, and Moon Hoaxers on several rockets and shoot them into the Sun... We'll inoculate everyone so they don't get sick and die on the way there, we'll make sure they orbit the Earth a few times so they can see that it's a sphere, and then we'll have the rockets fly by the Moon so they can see the lunar landing site but, after all of that, the rockets will take them to the Sun where they will never be able to infect others.

One of the coolest discoveries, besides being able to map trajectories, is that I'm able to generate trajectories that continuously produce odd integers that increase in value over n iterations. The normal behavior is that the sequence decreases in value. In other words, I can give you a trajectory where the first 1 million iterations produce numbers that increase in value.

I thought I had a proof until I extended the odd rule from 3x+1 to mx+n where m and n are odd integers, and analyzed the behavior of this extended Collatz function. The cool thing though is both of my maps, dealing with trajectories and the system of linear equations, work for the extended Collatz function.

Plus, I've discovered a system of linear equations that completely maps each odd integer per iteration of the Collatz function. This allowed me to set a limit on the largest possible integer per iteration that could form a cycle.

My work has yielded an equation that maps n consecutive odd integers for all trajectories. So, the equation will give you all trajectories for n=1, 2, 3, etc.. odd integers in the sequence.

My left hip is doing much better. Thank you for asking. I'm finally able to sit at my PC again and have resumed work on writing up my discoveries on the Collatz conjecture.

I find the comments to my status interesting. Of course, I meant it jokingly as I've been trying to educate a few friends of mine that are on the fence about all of this.

  14. On a side note, I'm finally moved into my new home, and my internet speeds are a blazing 386 Mbps down / 36 Mbps up. I know it's not the 1 Gbps that a few lucky people get, but it's the fasted available in my area :P

I'm finally able to walk using a cane, but I'm getting better everyday. When I'm on my pain medication, I can walk without it. I have about 1.5 more months until I should be fully recovered.

Thank you Imatfaal. I'm glad to be back. It won't be long (a few weeks at most) until I create a new thread regarding my work on the Collatz conjecture. Unfortunately, the work I've done on extending the Collatz conjecture has provided insights that invalidates my original proof, but I am very close. All will be revealed soon. :D

  16. I go to Norman Regional Healthplex at 7 am tomorrow for my hip replacement. Too bad I won't be awake to record the surgery. Wish me luck!!!

  25. Well, the core decompression surgery did not work. I now have to get a hip replacement. At least I'll be able to sit down at my PC for more than an hour after having the surgery. As it stands now, I'm in constant, excruciating pain. :'(
