  1. Guys, I need some help, power went off last night and when I went to start up pc it wouldn't Come one. It said the cooling fan wouldn't start up so the computer couldn't start up. I am getting ready to take it apart and see what is going on. Any tips as to how to proceed?

Where in the wide world of sports would I buy a cooling fan locally? Am I likely to be biting off more than I can chew or do I need to take it to a repair shop?

    Any hints/tips will be apreciated.

Did you  send it in to be repaired?

Let us know what they do to it if you did :-)

      Is the new fan turning?

Are you getting an error message even though it now turns freely or does it still stick?

Did the fan come with its own set of instructions  for installation ?

That is a pity.I have almost no experience with mending computers.

If you haven't already you might look at this set of instructions

That reminds me what was wrong with my PC when I took it to the repair shop (the second time).

He told me that the heat sink had come loose and he fixed it for me.He also put in a bit of extra RAM  whilst he was at it..

But it is an old machine  and I have about 70 tabs open permanently  .So it takes 5  mins at least to get going every morning.

Have you got a hair dryer?

Maybe   there is a bit of grease attached to the dust (if there is dust clogging it)

And it would also blow the dust (cobwebs in my case I think) away.

The man I took my pc to used some air pressure tool(perhaps important not to blow debris into the innards, but I doubt that would matter -but be careful of course)

Is the fan clogged up with dust?

Mine was.The room was very poorly ventilated and I didn't have the casing on.

That time it came back for me(started to spin again  again with a manual turn) but the second time (the PC got a knock with the hoover from "guess who")I had to take it in and there was something that had come loose.

I am the last approximation to an expert(my PC doesn't even run windows 10...

Yes ,with rye I think  you have to   add enough strong flour (ie make up for the missing gluten in rye) to get it to rise enough to get you a light loaf

Otherwise ,you could try a very long ,low temperature bake to give you a pure rye but very heavy loaf.

I think caraway seeds might be traditional with rye

I have only just started adding oil to the mix...makes for a different kind of a crust

Have never tried baking bread with baking powder instead of yeast but you could try that too .

My last one was 3/4  whole rye and 1/4 white spelt

I put a little oil in the mix and some poppy seeds top and bottom.

Rose quite nicely  and the oil made the crust less dry.

Have made bread every day or so for the past 40 years or so🙂

  12. Compare and contrast.I first downvoted and then ,very soon removed the downvote of  your reply to me because I saw that you had ,at a later  stage added to your crpytic response with a second part  that ,at least made some sense.

Meanwhile  someone had upvoted my Delphic Oracle reply to your cryptic response and so you have seen fit to downvote it .

Well I wasn't going   to bother replying to you but since you ask directly and out of courtesy (and because  I know the answer) the first part of your reply was "yes we are" and made no sense when taken as a reply to the text you actually  quoted from my post.

When I found time to go through the whole of the text including what you had not actually quoted  I could find what "yes  we are " seemed to refer to.

Also ,as I said  you had in the meantime(perhaps a few minutes later) added and replied to a  second  block of text from.the same post with a reply that made  sense.

So I removed my down vote only to see a  little while later that you had removed  TheVat's acknowledgement of my humourous ,if tetchy  reply

The rest ,as they say is ,hopefully history.

I knew it was you @TheVat.If you see the notification quickly enough it can be obvious by checking who is online.Same way I could tell who had cancelled it out(and why).

A bit annoying ,esp when I had just canceled my own downvote (my first ever possibly in some 15 years) because ...well I explained above

Apologies no you didn't.I was mislead because both @tar and I used the same word "square" in different senses and I didn't  pay enough attention.

He has sensible accommodations, better than his neighbors. Think I'll call him Bluebacker. One night our Tom cat spent the night with Bluebacker, and that didn't scare Bluebacker, his perch is safe.

I have small birds that occasionally come in through the window of my house and  take some time finding the exit

The other morning it woke me up dive bombing my bed.

It was actually the wings fanning my face that I felt (along with the ruffling of feathers)
