  1. I don't think the black is what you call shiny.
  2. There is this black string that used to be my belt. Well it's not a string exactly. It's a stretchy, elastic material. I tied this string to my back pack and string it. It makes sounds. It vibrates very fast. When it vibrates, I can see a meshing of red and blue. I don't know where this red and blue comes from. Can someone explain this phenomena to me? This red and blue appearing when I pluck my guitar.
  3. You divide out the 2 because it's a bracelet and can be flipped. For example, you have 3 keys on a chain. A B C If you set A as the fixed point, then A _ _ A 2 1 which means there are 2! ways, or 2 ways. But really, there is only one way. You can flip the key chain around. The A will always be adjacent to B and C. The B will always be next to C and A.
  4. Hey if you put the virus into another animal, say a dog, will it mutate to attack that dog? What if the DIV, doggy immunodeficiency virus, was placed into someone with HIV? Would the DIV and HIV attack each other?

    Weird dream

Wel I had a dream that I had tetanus. Right after seeing myself being sick, I remembered that I had stepped on a nail. Then I told the doctor that I stepped on the nail and that's where I contracted tetanus. I got sicker and sicker. When I woke up, I was really scared. It was weird because I really thought I was awake. What was more weird was remembering something after something else happened. I remembered that I stepped on a nail after I got tetanus. Except that it didn't happen. It made me think. What if my memories were just made up right now off the top of my head? Kind of strange.
  6. Would the human immunodeficiency virus attack non-human animals? Has there been reports of animals having the HIV? If not, then what would happen if you put the virus into the animal's system?
  7. I can do 40 in about 30 seconds too
  8. I thought there were tons of volcanoes on Mars, like Mount Olympus and stuff.
  9. 0=4x^2 - 12x - 4 0=4(x^2 - 3x - 1) 0=x^2-3x-1 (3+/-sqrt13)/2
  10. I agree with almost everything written here. I have 7 periods a day. Let's see... I believe I only benefit from like 3 of those classes, P.E., biology, and math. Everything else is a waste. Dude, it is said I have to take certain classes, like foreign language, to get into universities. My classes mostly suck. No creativity involved. PE I like because it's the only time I get to get out and be more active. Biology and math are just fun subjects. In biology, we get to do labs, which is fun. My math teacher is one of the smartest people I know. In the last few weeks, he brought in some home-made stuff like the Van de Graff and a tesla coil. Today, he made some lasers that were linked to a radio to make a laser light show on the wall while music was going. It was pretty cool. Yeah, but I wish I could drop the other 4 classes and get other classes I like. I also think that people shouldn't be tested with STAR's and SAT's and stuff. That's just too strict. My math teacher constructed his lessons based on the SAT's and testing. If we didn't have those tests, my math teacher would probably teach more stuff and bring in more home-made gadgets. Those tests are a waste of time and effort, not to mention money. Tons of paper are wasted on tests, tests that determine whether or not you go into a college of your choice. It seems that colleges aren't looking at creativity if they're looking at your test scores. I've had the luck to have every teacher from 5th grade up actually read and look at my work to grade it. Even so, school is still very easy. I don't try and still get straight A's. One of my friends try so hard and can't pass a class. I say there has to be a reform on testing. But what I'm picturing in my head is that there will be some people who don't want to do anything at all, just play games all day.

    Ideas

I don't remember a competition, but it'd sound fun. Although you might have to have different math levels because people are not all going to have college level math.
  12. Yeah, a friend of mine did a report on microwaves. He said that an ant won't die in the microwave because it's too small. Microwaves have more affect on larger objects because it uses waves. That's all I got out of his minute of spewing knowledge on the microwave.
  13. What is marijuana made of? Isn't it made of chemicals? Well, I suppose we can debunk the study about marijuana killing brain cells by seeing whether or not the chemicals that make up weed kill brain cells. But then again, there are many versions of weed. The one on the streets aren't the same kind as the one they give in hospitals, at least this is my assumption. The one in the streets are usually made in, well, unsanitary places.

    Time travel

I think there are other languages that can talk about time travel easily. My science teacher last year said that some cultures think time is "vertical" or something. I don't know what he means, but that culture could probably talk about time traveling.
  15. It looks like it was the Van de Graff. Thanks
  16. I saw this thing my math teacher made. At first it looked like a gumball machine with a sphere for the gumballs and a pole that holds it up. The device actually made lightning pop out. When he turned off the light and switched the machine on, lightning shot out of it. He put his arm next to the thing when it was on and it made his muscles twitch. He says the muscles responded or something to it because they are electrical. It made a classmate's hair stand up on end. The class made held arms and the shock went through everyone. It made my feet feel weird. It crackled when it hit someone. It felt like someone pinched you. If you used a microscope, you can see burns because the lightning was hitting you. The sphere was made of a metal and was silver in color. The pole seemed transparent with something blue inside of it. This blue thing was perhaps charging the sphere since it was moving. What is the name of this device? Can you find the instructions to make it? If you can, please attach a picture.
  17. According to what I know, if you have a circular permutation, you divide by the number of objects in the arrangement if there is no clasp. You also divide by 2 if there are reflections. Suppose you had a bracelet of 2 types of charms. One kind of charm is for luck, the other for gift. There are 2 lucks and 2 gifts arranged on this bracelet. This bracelet can not have a luck next to another luck and a gift next to another gift. It's superstitious and will give you the opposite. So you have one way to arrange it L / \ G G \ / L But according to what I know, and what my book did, you should have (2! * 2!)/(2*4) The 2!'s come from the ways to arrange the Lucks and the ways to arrange the Gifts. The 2 in the denominator comes out because it's a bracelet. The 4 in the denominator is from the total number of charms. If this is so, then there is 1/2 of a combination. The heck?
  18. I think cloning for any reason is alright. If you want to use it to create new cells for medical purposes, that's fine. If you want to have a baby using your dead baby's cell, that's alright too. It's your choice. I read your comments about having expectations, but even if there were no clones, your parents will still have expectations and compare you to others. My parents compare me with my cousins. It is traumatizing, but all parents have expectations nonetheless. I personally wouldn't want to clone my kid if my kid died. I'd prefer adopting. But if the parents can neither have another baby safely nor want to adopt but still want to have kids, it's their decision.
  19. I just found a blond hair about 2 inches long sticking out of my stomach. This is weird. I saw it before and pulled it out. Now it's back. It is like 4 times as long as any other body hair. My hair is naturally black. So this odd, 2 inch blond hair sticking out from my 1 cm black body hair from the stomach is odd. And there's only one of it.
  20. Sometimes I hear this weird low deep tone sound like for a split second. I can feel my ears twitch the instant I hear this sound. It reminds me of several things. Sometimes when I hear it I associate it with my sister flicking a finger right next to my ear. When I turn around to yell at her, no one's there. IT"S A GHOST!
  21. Could be a trigger to try to annoy yourself when you're bored. I hear it when everything is silent or when i force myself to hear it
  22. There's this cool pattern. Say you had a pattern of squares. 1^2 2^2 3^2 1 4 9 3 5 2 You subtract the previous term to the next term in the series. Say you had cubes 1^3 2^3 3^3 4^4 1 8 27 64 7 19 37 12 18 6 Say you had firsts. 1^1 2^1 1 2 1 Say you had zeroeths 1^0 1 You only need one term more than the exponent. The difference is going to be the factorial of the number. I've never tried negatives yet.
