  1. yeah, a dog of mine has lost some hair, and it revealed a dark brown skin
  2. yup, i have read about something called a firefly plant. i'm not sure if it really exists but it says there that it grows in areas with frequent water.
  3. yeah, tree already got it:)
  4. i don't think that would justify the positions of the numbers... you got it correctly but i didn't know it has come up here already. oh, well...
  5. oh! i haven't really considered that the site was near the sea. it could be planktons (there so good to look at... ) that's why i used phosphorescence. they just emit a faint glow so it might not be that. i have found something that might be useful... http://www.nswseakayaker.asn.au/mag/46/bioluminescence.html
  6. i don't know about that, but i have seen a fungi that lives on tree barks and glows in the dark. i think there are plants that are phosphorescent.
  7. ok thanks:) i have another one, and i think i know what to do with this one: The Effect of Light Intensity on Roosting Preferences of Rhinolophus bats in _______. I'll be measuring the light intensity in foot candles in sites where Rhinolophus bats were spotted. To confirm the bats in the site, mist netting could be done. I might also take light intensities from sites where non-Rhinolophus bats were spotted. I think the number of bats caught would determine whether Rhinolophus bats prefer roosting areas with certain light intensity or not. please tell if something is not right with this or if you have something to add.
  8. or do you think light intensity has some effect on the bats?
  9. i can't seem to find the answers i am looking for in the internet. anyway, would the times of departure from their roosting site be the same with foraging times?
  10. why do some people still use "an" before words like universal or eulogy?
  11. my teacher told me I should change the term "population density". i think i better know more about the variables i might deal with. just a question, how do you describe foraging times? because i thought foraging times are known, bout 5-6 am and 6-7 pm.
  12. I am trying to conceive a title for my research. So far I have come up with this: Light Intensity During Foraging Times and Its Relation to Population Density of Bats in name of sampling site/ place. Please tell me what you think about it.
  13. actually i am only faced with a similar problem. i am confused whether to use "to conduct a USG Mass Induction Program" or "to conduct an USG Mass Induction Program". USG there stands for University Student Government.
  14. which is correct, "a UMS" or "an UMS"? I have found articles from either of them.
  15. just want to ask, is velocity equal to displacement over change in time? that would mean, the average speed and the average velocity of a body could be completely different? why do we sometimes speak of velocity and still use the value (magnitude) from speed? if the body is moving to the west, should we denote the velocity as negative in place of the direction? (are these silly questions?) these aren't really my homework. i just sometimes ask these to myself whenever i solve problems in physics.
  16. thanks for the advices. so far i have read only 3 chapters and the introduction. i also have noted a few things from what i have read.
  17. Ok, i'll try to ask her tomorrow. but she really makes me nervous.
  18. i used to have a roommate who buys 2 sets of notebooks. one set is used to take notes in class, the other is used to copy everything she wrote before exams. she told me that it helps her remember the lessons and that's her way of studying for the exams. taking notes help me to remember the lessons. it also helps me to pay attention to the lecture.
  19. I know what kind of learning strategy suits me best. since i am a visual learner, i make use of maps, tables and pictures. some want to receive info by listening so they use tape recorders. if there are problem solving involved, i answer as many as i can from the ones given in the textbook.
  20. My teacher told me to write a report on the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. I don't know what to do since she didn't exactly mention what she wants to see in our reports. I don't know if she wants our personal insights on it or if she wants a summary of the text. Please please... I need your opinions on what do you think I should submit.
  21. usually, itching happens when a foreign object (irritants) is introduced. its like a signal that tells you to remove something that's not suppose to be there (scratching to relieve onself). i tried to insert a very thin wire in a follicle at the back of my hand and it produced itching.

    Extracting DNA

i think the cloudy part there are cellular debris, and you would still need to use eg. saline solution to precipitate the DNA and somehow separate it from the others.
  23. sugar makes you feel alert for a while
