This individual had lots of emotional and psychological issues. This I am sure played a big role in what happened. If you like sci-fi, you can't go wrong with enders game. Theirs a second one I think i'll be getting around to reading it soon.

Better late than never but I suggest the Gaean trilogy by John Varley. Outrageous genetic engineering in Science fiction.

Will give Varley a bash. I loved Enders Game. Audiblized (I know it doesnt exist) Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon as well - good fun
