The side effects of being a learning zombie is perhaps low selfesteem and confidence where you want to speak up. Perhaps some type of altistic attribute where things come in but they don't come out.

I think you're stereotyping. Most doctors are not like this. You should have changed doctors which means the previous doctor would have lost money and had to change his ways to prevent losing more patients.

But in fact, they didn't know, that theyre was thousands of people who could not evacuate. They did not have cars, they didn't have enough of their insulin medicine, they were paralyzed and lived by themselves, the public transportaion systems were full and the local, state, and federal goverment wasn't providing them a way out. There are many more reason why many people could not evacuate.

The above was a reasonable assumption considering none of them have changed reasoning and most were banned eventually. Perhaps you would like to show me a series of posts that might suggest that a creationist was converted?

Wrong again. The only kids who are going to listen to him are the kids who were taught by their PARENTS to be racist. Again, people do not suddenly change morals and ideals. This forum is proof; how many creationists have converted atheists? How many atheists have converted creationists? None. You underestimate the innate stubbornness of humans.

The problem is that just because somebody didn't intent for a comment to be rude doesn't actually mean it wasn't rude. I might consider your comment to be rude. It takes energy to make solar cells and batteries. The energy that is no longer being sent to your house is now being sent to the factories that are making the cells. I still don't understand, where would the troops have went? If they were in New Orleans they would have been skewered on top of telephone lines and crushed against brick walls. That's like saying we should mass our troops at a point we know a nuclear bomb is going to explode.

 

We didn't even have that much preparation time, YT2095. When Katrina passed over Florida it was a category 1.

 

The biggest problem is that we just don't have any way to get the people out. The only way would have been by helicopter which was being done until the rioting started. Now most of the New Orleans police are quiting and leaving; I can't say I blame them either. Can you Imagen trying to help the people in your home town only to have many of them shoot you? And I don't just mean random panicked shooting, a member of the national guard was shot in the leg when he was attempting to evacuate people from the superdome.

 

This is just a bad situation, one of the largest storms in history hit the most vulnerable port in the gulf. London didn't sink 20' below the ocean after it was bombed. It wasn't completely destroyed either which is why you see new buildings mixed in with the old.

I don't understand, YT2095, what else you expect Bush to do. There is NO possible way to fix this problem in 24 hours. Even if Bush used his magic wand to fix the levees it would still take MONTHS to drain the water alone. Do you think Bush should be swimming through the canal with a sandbag to help repair the levy?

In New Orleans there are even more complications, such as criminals shooting at rescue helicopters and burning the remaining buildings. Do you expect Bush to grab a rifle and start shooting the citizens of New Orleans?

I really don't know much about hybrid cars but I find it very hard to believe that they use a battery capable of supplying 500V at 100+ amps. This battery would need hundreds of cells and would be absolutely massive, weighing hundreds of pounds. Can you show me a similar battery?

I happen to agree, I personally don't have a problem with them making money off their success. We have absolute control over the situation. The answer is simple: if you think the price is too steep then stop buying it. The problem is that nobody is willing to go without oil; which obviously shows that the price really isn't that steep at all.

I would be more worried about the people stranded in the flooded port rather than the lack of oil coming from the flooded port.

Looks like maybe the rubber is oxidizing. The only way to prevent it is to store it in an inert atmosphere such as argon or mineral oil. I have a feeling you would prefer not to keep your shoes under mineral oil though. Either way, the process is irreversible without ruining the shoes.
