how can i make powdered zinc out of a solid piece of zinc?

hey, just went to the uni library and it has so many chemistry books its not funny lol. I have borrowed like ten huge books on it. My mum just laughed. hehe

lol, well when i went in and asked for the soda of nitrate i said it was for my agriculture teacher and i said i might see if my ag teacher wanted another nitrate instead of sodium nitrate because they didnt have it and plus i saw KNO3 on the list. So hopefully i can still keep that story going.

What is KNO3 used for in horticulture? How do i work out how many moles a chemical is?

I went to the hardware store today, and asked if they had sodium nitrate. They said they didnt but they can order it in, so i looked at the list of chemicals they can get in. IT HAS KNO3 lol. finally somewhere that can get me KNO3. Save me heaps of time than making it. Its cheap too. $31 for 25kg. I will probably make it just for fun too. Anyone got any excuses why i am going to buy KNO3 that i can tell the guy behind the counter I cant really say i am making fireworks. The area i live in isnt the safest thats the reason. So since i cant carry pepper spray, i thought i might carry a powder instead. Anti-Social? lol. So where do you get that powder?

How would i make a anti-personal powder? I wanna make something like pepper spray but in powder form. Would black pepper, baking soda and flour work? is there any other things i could add or take away from it?

now it turned black i did it agian but for longer, it has stayed blue. yay!! finally.
