here, i mixed 4parts kclo3 with 1 part sugar + 1 part charcoal (i think) anyway heres the video of burn ~0.2g http://media.putfile.com/02g-kcl3-c-su-4-1-1 here it is again with kclo3 + charcoal only (wet mixed with dextrin then dried and repowderised) it went slow could be my charcoal, its to damn fine, wouldnt mix properly so i had to wet mix it around ~0.2g aswell 70/30 ratio http://media.putfile.com/02g-kcl3-c-7-3 edit- the first one burnt much faster when sulfur was added (yes i know the chlorate + sulfur rule )

Hmm i made a warm soln of kno3 (30grams) and mixed it my hot soln of NaClO3 (initally used 60g of table salt) and i mixed them together, i stuck it in a fridge to cool it a bit, then i filtered the crystals out. now the crystals look like kno3 and not kclo3, if there actually any different between them, lets jsut say it didnt look like my previous kclo3 ill wait till its dry to see how it burns

@woelen yer it's 5w 22ohm. its a small white rectangle, i dont have a ruler handy so dont know the measurements. Could you use something else other than potassium dichromate?

Hmm anyone se Legend of Zorro how they exaggurated so much of Nitroglycerin's ablitiy. like how woulld a drop of NG explode on the top of the guys head, the worst thing that would do is give him rather a bad nitro headache as it gets absorbed in to the skin.

I made 2 grams of KClO3, burns with a nice purple flame, but doesnt do anything with Al, probably because its atomised. could it be turned in to flake using a mortar and pestle? Also i was reading back, my resistors were only 30 cents each, 5 for $1.50 (AUD) i dunno why you get it so expensive. edit: Would mixing KNO3 into the soln of NaClO3 yeild potassium chlorate? since kinda nearly all stores in my area discontinued selling KCl edit2: i stuck a heatsink on the 5 resistors cuz they get pretty hot (hand burning hot)

ive got h2o2 50% burns aswell, there not burns tho, and ithink the part about blistering is exaggerated, the pain is like a sharp bite but it fades away. hno3 gas coloured my skin to yellowish, wasnt a burn but it pilled away after a week or 2

i didnt test with acid, dont have it in the house at the moment. ill do another batch and leave it running longer. and yer i tried a few diffrent mixes, 70/30 and 50/50 . no diff

Whatever i got now wont burn with Alpowder (400mesh), instead it melts over burns with charcoal though, not fast mabye because it wasnt mixed properly. also with the match, it was burning really fast, it had the sound of a blowtorch when it was eating the match with a nice flame. i've been to supermarket but theres no KCl salt subsitute, only ones with 50/50 sodium and potassium chloride, ill look more tommorow

Hmm 3 days over anyway with the big electrodes it got the 150ml down to 30-40ml overnight, and there wernt any soild parts other the carbon deposit so im assuming its mostly chlorate (hopefully) ill get it dry to crystals in the oven and see how it goes

we're doing experiments with electrolysis today (some crap with copper sulfate solution) anyway i asked and she gave me 3 graphite and 1 copper electrodes. shown here in my new setup, now its bubbling 4x more http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/5909/dsc005407vq.jpg (30g) its getting close to 3 days, ill try to see if ican get it down to powder tommarow and see how it goes, im betting it wouldnt work but anyway

Question here, would having like more then 2 electrods be any good? like have 4, 2 opposite each other which are positve and 2 on the sides which are negative..

i boiiled it half way and then the liquid got really thick, a paste crap was forming on top and the crystals looked like snake skin. also, when i was boiling it, i took it off heat, and i swirled it a few times and it started to bubble, fizz like a coke.. what does this mean? p.s im redoing the experiment again (30grams) ill post a back in 3 days this time

I think the method is rather hard to get sodium metal as when the sodium seperates it produces h2o
