If the H5N1 virus mutate into human form, then the diease would became contagious. But its mainly in the field of poultry where it killed millions of birds. Also an empedic virus would stow for sometime and then magically reappeared anytime in the century. When we prevent that virus with a new vaccine, then the virus would stow for some more times. Then suddenly reappear with stronger protective. i.e. Spanish Flu in 1918 hide then now in 2005 it reappeared in a slight different form. Our planet is a crazy world today with science!! Though, I love the entairnment of science and keep us scientists really busy!

Ok I apologize for my last really BAD BAD BAD joke. I have a better one now. I hope you guys enjoy my next joke. (I hope so!! )

A new father goes into the delivery room to see his newborn baby boy. The doctor pulls him aside and says " I have the most amazing news. Your boy can fly". The doctor sees the doubt in the fathers eyes so he offers a demonstration. He picks up the little boy, holds him high in the air and then lets go. The baby falls to the floor with a loud thump.

"You son of a bitch" says the new father, ready to kill the doctor. " Wait, something must be wrong. He flew this morning. Let me try again". He flings the boy across the room and he slams against the wall and slides down to the floor.

"Oh my god, I am going to kill you" says the father as he is running towards the baffled doctor. "No no wait, I know what I did wrong. I promise it will work this time". He opens the window and tosses the kid out. The kid of course falls 7 stories and leaves a mess on the sidewalk below. By this time the father is choking the doctor. Currently I am learning Equilirium, and when I get to the Dymanic Equilirium or rather the LeChatelier's Principle, I became confused. Well, not exactly confused, but don't fully understand the concept. I understand that whenever a system at equilibrium is subjected to a stress, then the equilibrium will shift in a direction so as to relieve that stress. And the stresses may be a change in temperature, concentration and/or pressure(volume).

When either one of those stresses occurred I am having a difficulty to decide which direction the equilibrium will move. Right or Left? (Or even no change).

Use this example: 2NO(g) + O2(g) <===> 2NO2(g) + energy

(a) What happens if the temperature decreased?

(b) the concentration of NO(g) is descreased?

© the concentration of NO2(g) is increased?

(d) the volume of the system is decreased?

Any helpful hints or concepts would be accepriated.

Come on guys, you are confusing each other really bad!! I just completed Organic Chemistry Unit in my Advanced Chemistry course. So I can answer Primarygun's question.

amine, amide, alkene?

Obviously the chemical have the suffix of "oate" therefore it belongs to "Esters". Esters is a group of organic compounds containing the carbonyl group bonded to an oxygen atom. For example, acetic acid reacts with 1-pentanol, and it would produce pentyl ethanoate and water. (Acetic acid is also called ethanoic acid).

Also your naming of "methyl 2-methylproeneoate" is incorrect.

(1) The digit of 2 is not necessary because there is only 3 carbon atoms in propane. Understand this: A methy can't be on either side of propane, or else it will be called butane. So the methyl has to be in the middle which is the 2nd carbon atom.

(2) As you declared it proENE, the digit of 2 is not needed neither.

(3) You said methyl twice which is not a possibility, because 2 bonds are joining 1 carbon atom, and 1 bond with the another carbon. That let 1 left bond for a single methyl. So you only can have 1 methyl if you declare it propENE.
