  1. th energy that's gained by an electron in 1v potential. Could you plz give me an straight answer, be sure that I've thought about it by myself but I want to make it sure, ok?

  2. do we have such a unit for energy? and if there was such a unit, what would be its relation with electron volt?

I guess they must be equel since they have the same charge but someone said it's 1840 times greater than electron volt.:eyebrow:

  3. The photon energy related to an angstrom wavelength is in ev range . I guess the dominant interaction in that area must be photoelectric, eh? Or is that thmson and reily scattering?

  4. We have 2 nuclear sources each with activity of 3 Micro Cuiri. Now we mix these 2, wha's the total activity then?

Pretty simple question but not sure if the answer is 6!

  5. Once upon a time there was a young man who wanted to become a great writer. "I want to write things the whole world will read, "he declared.

"Stuff that will elicit strong emotions from people in every walk of life. I want my writing to amke them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger."

He now lives happily ever after in Redmond, Wash., writing error messages for Microsoft.

  6. I also used to be in favor of death penalty for some criminals like child abusers. First because I thought it might prevent some people from doing such crimes, but now I think if these people were sane enough to care about these things, they'd never do crimes. Sometimes I think why we should value someone's life who doesn't value other people's lives, but then I think who are we to get to decide who's worthy to be alive and who isn't?

I think the argument that the death penalty isnt a deterrent is a valid one' date=' but death penalty supporters have an automatic reply: people who get capital punishment are the ones who are most likely to murder again and again, so killing them prevents them from ever being able to commit future murders, so the death penalty saves lives overall no matter if the death penalty is a deterrent or not.[/quote'] Actually it seems the only way that you can make sure the murderer couldn't do any more crimes, but anyway how about confinement of those indivisuals who seem to be dangerous to others?(This way the revange is partly done too)

  7. erm, lil` Miss, did you actualy READ my comment, I didn`t condone killing, my point was that of the Deffinition of Sanity.

    Everyone(not SFN's mebers) knows that I never read people's comments properly!

(Anyway I wasn't commenting on your post. I just wanted to say that according to me this person can't be sane . Therefore we should keep him in a nouthouse...)

But who am I to decide who's sane and who's not?

  8. Well, sounds like it's easier to remove society's problems 1 by 1 than trying to find and fight the sourse of problems...

well, it would be hard to argue that ANYONE that can do this sort of thing is actualy Sane.
And we keep insane people in nuthouse not graveyard!
  9. Un/fortunately I'm not addicted to SFN yet!(that's because I'm addicted to another science forum) but I know what are the symptoms:

    1. you invite your close friends here or at least they know about here and make jokes about it.

    2. you want to edit what you've said.

    3. you never log out!

    4. you think 'what a damnable day' when you can't start your day by checking SFN posts!

    5. you think you've done nothing if you don't post here during the day!

    6. you think you have very great willpower when you decide not to post here and you don't!(and you know why some people can't quit smoking, drinking,...)

    7. you want to use smilies at letters!
