  1. You mean a series of chemical reactions work like the photosynthesis ? Or make use of the principle of photosynthesis to achieve any other aims? I've heard that someone made use of photosynthesis to drive a cell...
  2. What I know is just the memory process involve the CREB(cyclic adenosine monophosphate respond-element binding protein) and PKA(protein kinase A). When a message is transfered to a memory neuron, the message will reduce the restrictors on both CREB and PKA, then the traveler of the PKA will go into the nucleus and phosphorylate CREB, then the CREB will recall some memory genes for working. But what happen after that, I don't know.
  3. Will SO2(aq) be changed SO4 2- ion [sO2+H2O<->H2SO3, (SO3 2- + H2O->SO4 2- +2e- + 2H+,I2+2e- ->2I-)] and turn iodine solution from brown to colourless?
  4. You felt jealous, and also envy, right?
  5. Do you think jealousy is an emotion, or a complex result of other emotions? From my point, it's a complex result, I find this in a book. Why someone wants something as he sees another has that thing? One of the reason is he is afraid of lacking that thing. After this idea has developed in his mind, he then will try to get it, if you want to gain something from the hands of other, you must fight, that's why aggression is included in jealousy. Also, depression can also be one of the component of jealousy. You've already mentioned that, low self esteem can cause jealousy. Then do you think a patient who suffered from depression will have a high self esteem? Low self esteem can be a symptom of depression. Depression can cause jealousy, but not by itself, when fear, aggression and depression occur together, the feeling of jealous will almost be felt. The point I've to state is, when different emotions cooperate together and lead a person has another feeling, then it can be consider as a new emotional feeling, but is caused by its components. Jealousy is a complex result of emotions but actually, there's not an emotion called jealousy caused within a body.
  6. That means the repulsion from the lone pair electrons affect the position of the bond? Can you explain it further?
  7. The repulsion theory states that the outermost elections will separate as far as possible, right? In case of CO2, is the shape of the molecules linear? How about water molecule, why it has a V-shape?
  8. First, there's none of the brain district which is responsible for the formation of the jealous, again, jsut like any other emotional feeling, it's a complex result formed by the actions of different brain districts. Jealous at least include four other emotions: about fear, sexual emotion, aggression and depression. Just we simplify the text. Why someone want something? One of the reason may be that person is afraid of something. Because he is afraid of lacking something, he need or want something to maintain his thinking, so this explain that jealous include fear. The second one is sexual emotion, someone has just mentioned, so I won't make a further explanation. And the following is the aggression, if someone want something, of course he has to fight for it. But if he fail, and though he has tried lots of times, he is still fail, then he started to be depressed, depression covered the releasing of neurotransmitters. So, in summary, I think the formation includes the outside environmental factors and the inside neuro-actions: when someone recieve soem certain outside stimulants, his internal systems start to be activated, no finally, he feels jealous of something.
  9. As we can feel the dilation or contraction of the pupil(just for an example), I think the reflex actions of the eyes will finally enter out cerebral cortex(actually all of the explicit reflex actions in body will almost, eventually enter our cerebral cortex). But I'm not sure whether it enters the cortex directly or indirectly.
  10. How can we determine the shape of a molecule? I know electrons in a molecule should be separated as far as possible but how we can predict this?may be this involve some mathematical skills.
  11. 2) When matter is heated, it almost expands, while when matter is cooled, it almost contracts. The phenomenon described by you can be explained by this theory: matter took out from the refrigerator, particles in it are mostly contracted, but when it is suddenly put into warm water, those particles inside will be suddenly expanded, this probably destructs its original structure, thus cracked. 3) I'm not sure about that, but I think it should be reversible, that is, when matter with a fixed structure is heated to a very high temperature, and is suddenly inserted into icy water, then the highly expanded matter will contract in a few second, suring the contraction, if its structure is broken, it cracks.
  12. I would like to know which factor(s) is(are) essential to find out a focal length between an object and a lens. And the distence between the object and the lens is known.
  13. L.H.S. a/c + b/a + c/b =[(a^2)b+(b^2)c+(c^2)a]/abc let x as abc which is smaller than 1 =(a^2b+b^2c+c^2a)/x L.H.S.*x=a^2b+b^2c+c^2a R.H.S*x=(a+b+c)abc =(a^2)bc+a(b^2)c+ab(c^2) =(c-1)(a^2b)+(a-1)(b^2c)+(b-1)(c^2a)+a^2b+b^2c+c^2a let LHS*x as r and RHS*x as w, r-r=0 w-r=(c-1)(a^2b)+(a-1)(b^2c)+(b-1)(c^2a) 0>abc(a+b+c)-(a^2b+b^2c+c^2a)
  14. We all know that human brain depends on glucose for only energy storage. Then, what if a body is completely lack of glucose, can energy supplied from fats or proteins support the functioning of his brain?
  15. That's a method to find out whether the oxygen released is formed from water or carbon dioxide in air. In light reaction, oxygen is released, and this oxygne is came from water but not carbon dioxide. So, once radioactive water is used, radioactive oxygen will be released; while radioactive carbon dioxide is being used, radioactive carbohydrates will be formed.
  16. Well, the products of phtosynthesis is oxygen and glucose; the products of cellular respiration is energy. One is a process of making chemical that can store energy, another one is breaking down the storage chemical. I think this can be one of the differences. Isn't it? Also, msot of the living things on the earch carry out respiration while only green plants carry out phtosynthesis. One of them releasing caron dioxide while another absorb. Quite lots of differences...
  17. We know that common living thing storing their genetic information by using the form of DNA and some virus make use of RNA for storage. In my opinion, it's possible that other genetic materials carrier exist or can be existed, but it's better for us to understand all the interactions between present genetic material, DNA, first. It's because there may be some common properties between different genetic material, if we can understyand this point very well, it may help us to help any other genetic material or make us easier to develop another form of genetic information-carrying material.
