  1. I seem to be more shy around people who are different from me like someone really talkative. If i meet someone i can relate to more I won't be shy at all. But I'm such a strange person thats hard to find :P

  2.

For example' date=' how do I know that hind toes are not actually more evolved than hooves? Aren't toes better than hooves? Toes are more agile than hooves. What stops me from reversing the sequence of the pictures? [/quote']

Its not that wether toes are better than hooves or vice versa. Its what best fits the creature's environment. For example, say there was a creature with toes that used them for climbing or digging, then the whole pack of them decide their environment isn't fit for survival. maybe it got too cold or ran out of food. then they move on to another area, but in this area they need more speed to survive and the digging and climbing became useless. Then after a few generations there are a few creatures that begin to form thicker toe nails that can grip the ground better to run faster and avoid predators easier. and these genes get passed on to offspring but the ones with softer toe nails are slower and get eaten. Then after thousands of generations its gotten thicker and thicker until they look like what we call hooves.

  3. There was a question i once heard about. It was if the sun were to suddenly disappear would earth immediatly be thrown off course or would it take a while? The sun's rays take about 8 min to get to earth, so would we be thrown off course and still see the sun there for 8 min? The answer they came up with is that since gravity is warped space, and the sun were to disappear it would cause a ripple in space at the speed of light and would take about 8 min for us to feel it so there would be no time gap.

  4. i think that a black hole is gravity at

its highest level (of course) and it

is simply inverted light. The super star

has accumulated so much mass by

producing light that it cause the light

to slow down enough to convert it back

into mass inverting on its self' date=' not by

running out of fuel. Which produces

a hole in the space faberic at speeds

    faster than light.

the mass is infintely expanded creating

    massive amount of pull.

This is base on light being mass at the

speed of light and mass attracts mass[/quote']

I have a different theory. Maybe a black hole is actually anti-matter also called dark matter. when anti-matter is combined with matter they would balance out to zero, so the matter would disappear and seem as if it were sucked into the hole.

  5. I don't think about it that much cause since i have no control over it i'm not gunna dwell on it. We've all never existed at one point anyway, we are just gunna go right back there right? Either that or move onto something else. So i just say enjoy life while you can :)

  6. When i was young i was put on ritalin cause they thought i had ADD. I have an overactive mind that will wander off when its bored. And i got bored a lot in school so i would zone out and miss everything the teacher said. Ritalin didn't help me one bit, instead i was shaky and jittery all day as if i was on crack or something and i still zoned out a lot. Nowadays i'm better at concentrating, tho i still zone out without realizing it. I starting taking ritalin in 5th grade and thats when most of my problems started. I went from loud, hyper, and popular to quiet, withdrawn, and basically an outcast. Do you think it may have been the ritalin?

  7. I did an IQ test a long time ago and I forget what the name of it was. It involved the following tasks (among others):

-Sorting a series of cards with cartoons on them depicting situation' date=' and I was supposed to put them in their most logical order (a series of events that tell a story).

-Answers to general questions that test knowledge and common sense.

-Short-term memory test where I was to repeat a series of numbers spoken to me. Another such test where I was to repeat a series of numbers in the reverse order in which they were spoken to me.

-Arranging together 9 blocks which were half red, half white (separated along the diagonal) such that they matched a 2D shape shown in a booklet (like Tangrams).

There were other tests as well, but I don't recall. Does anyone recognize these tasks as belonging to a specific IQ test?[/quote']

I did a test like that. It was on the memento DVD.

  8. creationism' date=' evolution, and religions that are 'of intrest' to the pupils should be taught..

those who say God should be left out of the science room as evolution does not deny the existence of God, I disagree with.. its not about denying his existence.. Evolution to many denies the existence of God 'as they know him' (i.e. through scriptures).

I'll give an example.. When I studied science, our head of science at school aggressively tried to convince us that man and ape shared the same ancestor..

Now that rang alarm bells in the heads of the Muslims and Christians in the class,.. as it should.. We've been bought up to believe that God made Man from clay.. the scriptures go into a fair amount of detail on the sequence of events that occured in Gods creation of the Humans and their legacy on planet Earth.

Nowhere in the scriptures does God mention Adams bretheren King kong..[/quote']

There is a HUGE difference between religion and science.

Science is about finding facts and using them to conduct a theory. A theory is based off all the information we have but is still not 100% sure. Theres no way to prove gravity or the earth goes around the sun, but we are pretty sure of it. And theories can change, maybe the scientists found something new so they use that information to change their theory. Scientists like to keep their minds open to all kinds of possibilities.

Religion is based on books, stories, strong beleifs, and what people have been taught since childhood. Its almost burned into your mind as fact for some people. They don't want to beleive anything else and will never change their ideas or be open minded. Religion goes a long way back. A lot of people died for religion or for speaking out against it. And religion was forced on many people. And back then they didn't have much technology for science like we do today.

Religion is fine to be taught in school if its in a culture class or something. But its no where near close to being science.

  9. except for the naturally selection to be the programmer??.. hmm.. so now its survival of the fittest? but doesn't the theory of a species surviving by keeping the desirable genetic qualities and losing the undesirable ones happen as they go along.. or can genes/or an invisible force called natural selection see into the future to predetermine whats going to be desirable and whats not?

do you know what natural selection is? :P Say you were walking down the street and you came across two women. One really sexy girl and one very ugly girl. who would you sleep with? And then she gets pregnant. thats natural selection. You chose which one to pass on your genetics.

Another example: two rabbits were running from a fox, rabbit1 has a gene that gives it shorter legs than rabbit2. The fox eats rabbit1 cause its slower than rabbit2. Rabbit2 lives and makes babies.

It can't see into the future, its just who survives and makes babies.

  10. Faith in what is true. If you don't have faith in truth' date=' then you doubt what is real.

    [/quote']

wait a sec. arn't you supposed to have faith in a belief? The truth is the truth if you know its true, you can't have faith unless there is doubt and if there is doubt then how do you know its the truth??

  11. Have you proven that the easter bunny does not exist? Or how about Santa Claus? The tooth fairy, leprechauns, gnomes, elves, unicorns, vampires, werewolves, mermaids, big foot, or the lochness monster?? Prove that they don't exist, until then i beleive they are all real.

  12. But that doesn't count because you're a three dimensional object and so you will always occupy the area around this said point, the southern-most point of the earth.

ok then, how bout this? the pole is always moving, so then when you walk following the pole you can move and still stay absolute south all the time.
