really? I was going to say that's way too much.
and I stand corrected' date=' it was $150m[/quote']
A company that sells a program that shares other peoples hard work for free really irritates me. They make money by exploiting other people. Stealing. I hope they and Limewire and bearshare and all the other ones get fined more they can pay and get shut down. Just my moral 2 cents.

Maybe some server downtime or something. They work on my computer now too.

I also have searched the Net very extensively on this topic. Have not came across any posting. Hydro-electric energy storage in principle is the same thing and they are used widely to store massive amount of energy by the Power Utility sectors. The problem is that for it to work one requires two adjacent lakes at different heights and it's efficiency is around 70% (multiplicative of the efficiencies of hydro-turbines and pumps). I have this idea of hauling very large mass of (1000s of tons) scrap lead (from car batteries) top of grand canyon (more than a mile up) and use electirc motor /generator (could be one unit acually..I have to think). The system can store massive amount of energy in a very tiny place and the efficiency can be more than 85%. It can be used anywhere where there are such great vertical fall or even on mountain slopes (the efficiency will be slightly reduced because of friction)
Conservation of Energy will say it takes at least as much energy to bring the weight up as it will exert when pulled down by gravity. Also, more will we wasted in heat, sound, etc. Therefore, you would need a more than 100% efficient system to make it work.

By the way, Kazaa just went legaling, after shelling out about 100 million in law suits.
I hope they have to pay more.

I live in the USA.
Recall that when we tried to switch to the metric system it didn't work out so well.
That's because we are too stubborn and lazy to adopt a better system.

Yes, there are faster ways to share personal files than the p2p. It's not really efficient at all. And you know that isn't what p2p's are used for.

I think BCE and CE work fine. My history classes have used these.

In my opinion, no p2p programs should work.

Hmm... I drink mostly water and have the same feeling with other drinks a lot. I guess that doesn't help you though...

It seems that the shuttles will be replaced fairly soon anyway. Also, if you ever get the chance, come to Brevard and watch the shuttle launch. It is very exciting to watch the shuttle in the sky (not on tv) and look for the rocket boosters falling.

I took AB last year and got a 5 on it.

Temperature and the other thermodynamical quantities are defined in the limit of a huge amount of particles. The construct called Thermodynamics doesn´t apply to single atoms with definite position and velocity.
As for the question: The atom will move according to the movement equations. If there´s no force' date=' then it will remain in its current state of movement (for example at rest). If there´s any kind of forces working on it (like a cloud of gas giving gravitational attraction), then it will accelerate as a result of the force.[/quote']
Oh, I see. Also, isn't there always background radiation that would cause the atom to move some?

Hey, I watched that show when I was little. I guess it must have been reruns though. It was my favourite. (gilligan right?)

Unless it was at absolute zero atoms move don't they?

I got a 5 on calculus. Everyone should take it, it's fun.

We started a similar thread a while back if you wanted to look through it.

That's why I wait for new OS until they get most of the bugs worked out.

Geez there's a bunch to reply to. I'm doing my best but I can't argue with everybody - haha!
Much simpler. If an animal deserves to live' date=' it will be alive.[/quote']
I disagree but I don't think reason will do any good. Hope you change your views.

No' date=' I don't think it's necessarily productive to preserve a species that nature is trying to exterminate. Did you ever think that it might be catastrophic to preserve a particular dying species? A dying species that will threaten the foundation of another species due to come into existence in the future? Perhaps after our time here? We can go all day at this, but at the end of the day, only mother nature knows what she's doing. [i']And the only communication we get from her...is instinct.[/i]
We have come to the point where we are more powerful than other animals. We can do as we please and kill what we want easily. This is not nature. Nature is not trying to kill them. And people are killing them by instinct, they are killing them for sport. This comes from a much more conscious part of the brain. I would also argue there is no mother nature and no one knows the future but that is irrelevant here.

Ok' date=' now think about this... What would the Bonobo do if nobody cared about it? Would it still deserve to survive?
You're basically saying it deserves to survive because you think it's really cool and stuff.
There's probably countless species of animals that have alot to teach us but have since become extinct, perhaps by our behavior or perhaps not. But we're still here, alive and kicking. They are not because they don't deserve to be here.
Life isn't a right, it's earned. There are no rules and no referees. Cheaters win too. Sucks huh?
[/quote']
I'm confused to as what your point is. Is it that weaker animals deserve to die and only humans should inhabit the earth? Or that animals we think are cool deserve to be killed?
Or are you saying that all animals deserve to live, whether we view them as cool or not. If it was this case I would agree with you, but looking at your previous posts I am not inclined to believe so.

Ummm...I don't agree. If idiots shoot them' date=' then they're not surviving are they? How is it any different if a human kills something or some other predator?
[/quote']
Because we have the potential to destroy the world and all species on it. We destroy what we want easily and often for no reason. I do believe that is different than an animal hunting for food.

You can get a pretty good piano for that price. Have you ever had to replace it? (it broke . . . new one).
I started out with the starter model (~ $800) and then got a Loree Royal for around $6000. These will last long enough if you take care of them.

What will the hurricane season be like this year?

I don't think we will have as many, but I think it could be worse. Living in Florida, I want to point out there is a HUGE difference between quantity and quality in the case of hurricanes. Judging the season by the number of storms is not accurate.
Last year in Florida we had a lot of tropical storms, but we just stayed in the house and wait them out. It wasn't that bad for us (Katrina didn't hit us that bad.) The year before that we had 4 major ones hit near us (I think) and it was bad.
I'll try to take pictures and videos when we have them (safely inside or during an eye if we have one again) if you guys want. Hopefully I won't lose power for two weeks again.
