  1. I got a QQ. Urethane, is it an alkane? is it ethyl carbamate? what is it???
  2. Not yet, that is....it seems to me the way to go though...the mathamatics are perfectly sound and, wait is fermilab up and running yet? can they pr0vide any evidence for or against M-theory? (string theory)
  3. who wouldnt? I got a question, why is it that many drugs contain the NO or additions of this group like herione, cocaine, MDMA etc.
  4. che.auckland.ac.nz? http://www.google.co.nz/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=chemistry+first+year just some thoughts....the top one is my most frequent site i use, mainly because its the uni im going to next year, assuming my exams go well....... hope they help
  5. Ive never had any experiments go wrong for me.....luck or skill (most prob luck) and i do a resonable amount of toying considering. The worst thing ive seen happen is a chick in my chem class was doing a copper content in brass titration and a guy shoved past her knocking over a flask of conc nitric acid, gave her a few scares and no shoes:p

  7. yu're refferring to the dark matter question, yes its possible that gravity might be interacting with our universe and causing some of these effects, prob is at the moment we have no easy way to detect it. Thats the reason gravity is "supposidly" so weak is because it can leave our universes dimension and travel into higher dimensions, which is the interaction of gravity you're talking about...... if string theory is correct

  9. Hey, would it be possible to have a sorta one hit wonder thread for people who have questions that are not thread worthy but are looking for a quick awnser. I myself, and several i know of often have many question of which i have and cannot awnser myself but dont feel are thread worthy. would this work?
  10. The best definition i seen is "Any substance that is taken and has no nutritional value at all" Your definition of saying "any non-food substance" seems wrong...there are many drugs that are foods BTW i know several old drug addicts quite alot of whom say it just feels like they are tripping permanetley all the time, is this due to what the drugs done to their body or is it because they probably have excess still left in their system? Does any one ever full recover from the affects drugs have? or does it depend on the drug?
  11. No they still dont become obvious, can some one please help me on this? even my calculus teacher cant do this............
  12. Y= at^2 or Y= 2at are others you could try, see if they work
  13. Prove the triangle inequaltiy as follows a) [ math ]|z_{1} + z_{2}|^{2} = |z_{1}|^{2} + |z_{2}|^{2} + (z_{1}Z_{2} + z_{2}Z_{1})[ /math ] (b) [ math ]z_{1}Z_{2} + z_{2}Z_{1} = 2Re (z_{1}Z_{2})[ /math ] [ math ]<2|z_{1}Z_{2}|\[ /math ] [ math ]=2 |z_{1}][z_{2}|\[ /math ] Where capital Z's are the conjugate, Oh and < means greater than or equal to Cheers
  14. I didnt have time to read the whole thread but according to "the elegant univese" (String theory) Gravity acts at c.
  15. We know the radius because we can measure it indirectly (bond lengths) and through share theortisising, it works. we can see atoms with special microscopes (electron microscope) but cannot see it with visible light for obvious reasons. I have seeen several pictures of atoms, but theyre not much to look at really
  16. I heard someone at a youth conference say "god may have just set things in motion so it looked like there was a big bang". For evidence just look at what god was like and turned into....like he allowed in-breeding when he first created the world ("go forth an multiply" to adam and eve, how were they to do this without in breeding) there are heaps of contradictions i have found in the bible you just have to look for them....but basically there will always be people on either side of the fence...just more people on the right (evolution ) side.. BTW Go.Sorcerer .....another kiwi in the mix...YE-YAA
  17. In the explanation of the Principle (Feynman Lectures) where i read it stated, "the path in which the first order of time is not altered but the second order of time is" I dont get that part, cheers for the help pangloss
  18. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ Yea this helps sometimes, looks pretty more than anything and alwasy has good diagrams.....
  19. Soz if i got the dudes name wrong, I was wondering if any body knows of any good books/sites or has any good interpretations themselves into the principle of least time/most time? I dont get what it means when "there is no change in the first order time, just a change in the second order time??? Im finding this principle very hard to pick up and would appreciate the help.
  20. http://physics.designerz.com/physics-reference.php i like this one quite alot, uits got pretty much everything!
  21. Don't get what you mean....possibly some better english than "relations between these (...) the universe will be another" <-- cant make any sense of this part at all. From what i can draw out of what you are trying to ask is yes, a solid state civilisation is possible.
  22. Theory of everything/string theory cannot provide a testifiable prediction in order to see if it is accurate or not, well not so far, the closets we can get is to speculate about the new particle accelerators that are being made may help..............
  23. If 'theory of everything' cannot be testified, no one should believe it.................
