  2. awwwwwwww :-( *hugs*

Well' date=' mine are the following:

    1. Finger infection. It spread through all my fingers and one finger was really reddish and big...so i went to a doctor and he cut around my nail with a sharp object and i started bleeding and then i passed out...for a while. It was totally grose and very very painful for weeks.

    2. When i was a baby, about 2 or 3 weeks old, i fell down from a tall table and hit the ground very hard. I don't remmember the pain, however my chest bone sinked in a bit, and apparently that's how i got my Pectus Excavatum.[/quote']

Wow I've never heard of that until now. Does it cause you pain today?

  3. I have a messed up stomach and I go in for tests on a regular basis. Most are okay except for the Abdominal CT. When they put the saline injection in my arm, at first everything is okay until it reaches my stomach. Then the pain starts and increases exponentially. By the end of it I'm usually crying and unable to talk for a while.

  4. I didn't know what section to throw this in, but are any of you guys worried about the security of our satellites? I guess I noticed just how much of our everyday life has to do with satellites. Cell phones, television, etc.. The way I've seen computer viruses becoming much more sophisticated lately, and it doesn't seem like the government is on the ball when it comes to keeping updated. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

  5. I never denied that it changed the rate, I just said that it wasn't a significant amount. And certainly not enought to cause brain damage (except maybe if you were already about to die of starvation, and even then the body would have sacrificed tissue like muscle first and you would die before you suffered brain damage from lack of nutrition).

Lack of sleep will cause brain damage if the body doesn't receive sleep after an extended period of time. You already know that the body heals itself mostly when it's sleeping. If the body can't heal itself day after day, the damages just keeps adding up. You won't die first. Your memory and cognitive functions go out the window. http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/hu/groups/sleep/wellcome.htm

  6. i enjoyed watching him shoot the cadaver in the face with a handgun. that might be one of my favorite all time tv moments.

My jaw dropped twice during last night's episode. I feel like christmas came early this year because I get new episodes of House two days in a row.

  7. how serious are you?' date=' I mean REALLY!

I may just have something for you, the Planet deserves it, I`ve sat on the idea long enough, I can`t afford the patents and stuff, and this idea`s going to waste.

this WILL make you Millions!!!!! IF you handle it correctly and have enough capital to get started (buying Patents).

get the patents done and owned, you`re set for life!

I`m as serious as cancer here! you may Have this invention of mine.

PM me with WHY I should give this to you, and I`ll consider it.

    I can`t say fairer than that! :)[/quote']

That is no excuse YT! You're smart enough to figure out how to make your idea work. If you really do have a great business plan, then why don't you execute it yourself. Not to mention the benefits of having some extra cash to play with when you have a wife and baby. I expect much more effort from The Resourceful One.

  8. Yea' date=' crap, much more a fan of Black metal, techno, jazz, classical and opera.

In any case, I can see a clear reason that rap is bad, mainly from the people I go to school with who are deeply impacted by this music. Aside from the constant slur of speech and the fact that whever they have nothing better to say, they repeat some rap lyric they listen to. As you can imagine it gets quite annoying.

But besides the annoying aspect, the men are especially effected in that they have no regard for the female sex. To me, it seems to be a direct correlation between rap and disregard for females, putting them down constantly, making them out to be no more than sluts and whores. Absolutely dispicable. However I suppose this is a two way street in that the women put up no resistance, subjecting themselves to the title of sluts.

Oh well, I suppose I'm just so fed up with it, I just needed to vent.[/quote']

Yes, rap is horrible. It's the only music genre to degrade women  . Rap is also the only genre that people mimic their actions in music videos. As someone has already stated most of the rap on television is crap. What do you expect from MTV, BET, and VH-1? I'm fed up with the constant generalizations about music I keep seeing lately. God knows if I can count how many rap threads or emo threads I've seen online. And the titles are so creative too. Who would have thought to rhyme rap with crap?

  9. Just for the sake of clarity' date=' I know some folks here have called for amnesty, but the Senate plan does not grant amnesty. It requires illegals to have been in the country for a minimum of five years, pay a $2000 fine, learn to speak English and a few other things.

The details are, I believe, still being debated, but given that there are many, [i']many[/i] crimes that carry less-harsh sentences, that's not exactly "amnesty".

Still valid would be the question of whether it encourages more immigration, because the individuals in question may still find that to be an easier path to citizenship than the current "legal" methods.

That's not punishment. They already pay that much and more to coyotes to bring them over here. I bet people waiting in line to come here legally would be willing to do that in order to jump to the front. Not to mention they're still here in the country, so what's the incentive of them bothering to learn english? There is no way this system would work right now. Such a program would require a local/state/federal collaboration. How else would they be able to try and figure how long a huge group of undocumented people have been here? Hurricane Katrina was a wonderful example of how they work so well together.

  10. Moved to Politics-not science news

Anyways' date=' they probably spend most of the quarter showing you slides of various STDs to disgust people enough so that they won't try having sex for another ten years.[/quote']

In my health class all the teacher had to do was show a very graphic video of a woman giving birth. I still have flashbacks to that film.

  11. OK so the question is pretty straightforward. You could be married forever to a model type person, which would give you explosive sex and perhaps good looking kids, or a nerd mate and although the sex might not be superb, you would be able to have tremendously satisfying intellectual conversations. Of course im generalizing, cause a model could be a nerd, etc. Guess this is an "im bored" poll type thing

I am personally tired of good looking boring people. I have only met one girl who was stunningly intelligent and beautiful in equal measures, and she was taken sadly... :( I personally would now choose a nerd, knowing what I know. And I consider myself a nerd too btw. Thanks for participating.

I can't answer the poll because it's not as straight forward as you think. Neither being a nerd or a model automatically makes them exclusive to one another.

  12. 1. Who is Emma Watson?

    2. Who does not drink?

    3. Children behave childishly.

Whoever she is' date=' she seems quite normal.[/quote']

She's the actress who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. There's been a pic of her drinking a corona circulating on the internet. I've seen it and it looks photoshopped.

  13. such as?

no' date=' it doesn't. the rights of the unborn cripled children outweigh those of the deformed forefathers.

think of it this way: would you want to be responsible for countless people suffering their entire lives?

the same way you normally do.

we intrude on the workings, by keeping the weak around to reproduce.

you have yet to show how eugenics is unethical.[/quote']

Have you guys forgotten about Stephen Hawking? He has ALS. That's a fatal debilitating disease and are you trying to say that his accomplishments in science are far outweighed by the fact that he's crippled and allowed to procreate?

  14. Oprah... I hate her because she's just the paris hilton of the more classy world of mindnumbing boredom. Why is she famous? Because she's famous of course. Or maybe it's for her magical ability to drastically shift in mass several times in the span it takes michael jackson's face to change once.

Oprah' date=' Martha Stewart, others like them; it's clear that they're all part of a conspiracy to turn the housewives of America into something unlike anything we've ever seen before, hybrids of good baking, dull literary preferences and the illusion of elegance shining through a blubber-padded exostructure.[/quote']

I probably felt a little bit like you did until I watched her biography. That woman has been through hell and back and she never let it stop her. Still don't watch her show, but I have a lot more respect for her now.

  15. It's certainly an ad hominem to argue the results of a poll are biased solely on the basis of who conducted the poll and how he was funded.

Isn't that more like common sense? For example, are you gonna take a poll on gays at face value done by a Baptist group funded by Fred Phelps?

  16. I think the problem is that some fathers need to take a more active role in their children's lives. After the woman has a baby many people(men and women) assume that she is supposed to take of the child by herself. It goes both ways. In order for both parents to enjoy having a career they need to help each other out. This one female doctor I know is taking time off to have a baby. She's not quiting her job because her husband understands that she loves being a doctor, and he's not going to leave the child rearing completely up to her.
