  1. Every change in velocity (speed and/or direction) requires energy. Each single change takes a piece of your finite energy budget and efficiency is never 100%.
  2. You need a thermoelectric generation from a nuclear source. That's what's available atm.
  3. Right, delta-v can't be ignored and is a major factor in considering the feasibility of space missions iirc.
  4. Apophenia must be the twin sister of Pareidolia.
  5. The findings of that would be a clue.
  6. With AI technology increasingly taking away the burden of thinking and researching, it sounds like a recipe for evolving away from cognitive neuroplasticity in the general population.
  7. AI can be convincing, but it is often confidently wrong sometimes . I use it for factual things that have a definitive answer. I don't ask novel, hypothetical questions to do with people. Answers to those sort of questions will be weighted to the views of the owner of the LLM. Musk does this with Grok, as an obvious case.

  9. If a monkey types Hamlet verbatim without knowledge of English, it is a random event, isn't it? Just because we can get it to fit ex post facto something we know exists, doesn't make it a thoughtful effort; deterministic.
  10. Apparently, Trump went so emotional and off his rocker during the rescue mission to get those f15 pilots back, he was ejected from the situation room as it happened. He was fed bits and bobs in chunks later on in his office. He was fretting over what it would do to his image if they were captured. It seems he feared what happened to Carter was going to happen to him.
  11. Iran's decision structure accommodates potential assassinations and commanders can act autonomously, if necessary. It seems they have thought of the long game.
  12. I can't. It's from memory and it was in a newspaper. It was one detail in an article, a passing remark by him.
  13. Not correct. In the Iraq war Netanyahu threatened to nuke Saddam's Iraq if they put one missile on Israeli soil. I remember him saying that because he was basically admitting they had them. And yet, he still maintains nuclear ambiguity.
