  3. just your cappileries getting tougher. probably from repeated rupturing (bruising) and then healing again.
  4. umm do you mean a fluid that is magnetic of a fluid that can be influenced by magnetic fields? if its a fluid that is itself a magnet then that is imposible about the fluid that is influenced by magnetic fields i know they exist but know nothing about them.
  5. just poke it with a big stick that always works

yeah i hate pollen although thank god its only certain types ! i don't get it abroad
  7. pluto is a bit dubious as it is borderline between planet and planetoid all the other "planets" as the media calls them are infact planetoids (really big chunks of stuff that have enough gravity to make them round andhave a half decent density)

a fine spray of water makes some good "orbs". so does flour and icing sugar. i think this could also be done with dust in the air. all it requires is a bright light source slightly offset from directly behind the lense. hang on thats where a flash is! Could this be it? i think so!
  9. but it does not require going faster than c as long as you are above the distance from the singularity where the orbital velocity is c.
  10. surfaces? right i'm confused now. On the website linked aboe it said that the event horizon was where the escape velocity was c. it then said that the photon sphere was outsie this and since orbital velocity is slower than escape velocity this should be the other way around. I think this is what i'm meaning i don't know i've confused myself.
  11. yes but how can light orbit the blackhole if the escape velocity at that distance is less than c? is there some weird relativistic effect here? if something is going faster than escape velocity then it WILL escape(or should do at least) the area where the orbital velocity is c should be within the event horizon if the event horizon is the distance from the singularity where the escape velocity is c.

looking back at that picture if you notice the wall there are none that are partially behind it. they always go infront.
  13. Acceleration DOES NOT create a gravitational field!
  14. umm its not a parabola but a hyperbola where its highest closest to the gravitational body and 0 at infinity

it could be flecks of dirt on the lens (although the ones i seen were brown) or maybe it could just be that the brightspot(orb) actually appears larger than the droplet that caused it. this one looks like a candidate for droplets in the air though and not on the lense. I'm going to do a few experiments to try and create "orbs" in my garage. I have took loads of photos in there and never once seen an orb except for the numerous footballs (soccer for the american people here) and some old and extremely huge light bulbs.
  16. hang on i've been looking at the site and i'm wondering about this photon sphere. how can it be orbit outside the event horizon at c? if its going at c and the escape velocity at that distance from the black hole is less than c why doesn't it just escape?
  17. oops got my event horizons mixed up. apoapsis is the highest point in an orbit and periapsis is the lowest point in an orbit.
  18. Mass does not change with respect to distance. If it did a lot of weird things would happen. WEIGHT, the force of gravitational attraction does vary however. the weight vs distance graph would be a 1/x^2 graph and a force versus acceleration graph would be a straight line with gradiant m for mass. you can find this stuff on google.
  19. Just had an idea about this and i can't find any threads about it either. Orbital velocities are slower than escape velocities, so you could theoretically orbit a blackhole inside the event horizon(assume its so massive that there isn't a whole lot of sheer) without breaking any laws of physics(i think). To escape you could change your apoapsis till it is above the event horizon and still be going below c. when you get out side the event horizon you just bring your periapsis out of the event horizon by accelerating again and you could then accelerate to the escape velocity at that altitude. any flaws here?
  20. No gravity only provides an acceleration. the acceleration on earth is roughly 9.8m/s/s. that is anything dropped on the surface of earth will accelerate towards the ground at 9.8m/s/s. the only speed limit is c. a dropped object will not just accelerate to a velocity v where v is proportional to the force of gravitational attraction. The dropped object if dropped from infinity will hit the gravitational body with the escape velocity but it does not mean that that is a speed limit.

easily explainable by different sized droplets of water. Now if you had a picture of one that maybe has something crossing in front of it, then we would have to find a different explanation. i have never seen an orb in this position. i have seen orbs where things go behind them though.
  22. just cause there are no mutant children does not mean they have not breathed in uranium dust(anyway radiation poisoning usually leads to sterility rather than mutation of potential offspring)
  23. well you could artificially grow some white blood cells of yours in a lab(is that possible?) and then put them in your blood stream so you have like 10000 times the normal count that would be one hell of a boost.
  24. i hate the fact that in the day after tomorrow the huge wall of water leaves all the buildings standing. to cheep to even copy the effects from deep impact.
  25. i think a new tougher ceramic would need to be found and made cheaply for this to work as i understand the ceramics can be quite fragile. on the roads where i live a ceramic engine would disintegrate at the first pothole(then again so do most metalic parts my mum has lost 3 axels 5 exhaust pipes and a radiator going over some of them although not all at the one time.)
