Congratulations, Italy. Poor kid Saka; he looked devastated. We can't say Italy didn't deserve it either. They played brilliantly for many minutes.

Interesting final if England does the job tomorrow. My bet is on England for this cup's winner.

Morata IMO was the MVP against Croatia (that stamina...), even though he just scored once. Five goals, five different scorers: Sarabia, Azpilicueta, Torres, Morata, Oyarzábal. Football/soccer is a team effort. Take Cristiano, he's still top scorer; yet Portugal is out.

France and Benzema (and other excellent players, like Pogba and his wonderful goal) are a similar case --and I did watch that match against Switzerland--. France didn't play team, that's why they're out. You must picture in your mind where your team mate is going to be free of mark half a second from now.

Italia is very different No matter who plays it's gonna be tough. Tough marking, lightning-speed counterattack, deadly danger in free kicks, and even bottling the game for as many minutes as necessary --and not one more. Masters in every trick of the game.

Don't write my boys off just yet. Although my money is on Italy vs England too. Motivationwise, Spain would top Germany in number of Euro cups, which is a juicy carrot, although lesser than England's, I think. The winners of Czecs vs Danes have a word here too. Don't forget Heisenberg's uncertainty principle says nothing is certain. 

I knew we would not botch it against Switzerland. We have less individual quality than France, but we're more of a team. Spain never loses the ball and always has a pass. Besides, we're always very humble and never underestimate anybody. But it was --predictably-- a close shave.

Italy is of much more concern to Spain. It always has been. Although at this point it could go either way.

I expect England in the final, or a ticket home.

I'm so sorry, Moontanman. I think it was Carl Sagan who pointed out that we are but stardust. This stardust we must give back to the galaxy, eventually. It's needed somewhere else so life can go on. But before it goes, it plants its seeds, so those who are left after we pass have something to build on. We grow and improve ourselves, with the help of others, and fertilise the minds of still others. That's what matters in the end. I hope your pain subsides --it will-- and the beautiful things that were your life together reappear under a new light some day.
