  1. Ca(OH)2. It should be also possible to freeze it out, although it may be expensive. Perhaps just water will be effective - IIRC CO2 dissolves much better in water then methane does. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration conversion
  2. Check out the lecture: http://www.chembuddy.com/?left=pH-calculation&right=pH-weak-acid-base and example question: http://www.chembuddy.com/?left=pH-calculation-questions&right=pH-weak-acid-q1 pKa = 3.45 However, calculation for 27M solution will be not accurate, as the activities start to play important role. Try BATE to calculate pH. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration conversion
  3. There even was (is?) a set of symptoms common to gulf-war participants (mainly soldiers) that was initially attributed to uranium dust. Can't remember how it was called, no idea whether it holded under investigation. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration conversion
  4. Polymers can get quite large. Especially these creating interchain bonds - bakelite behaves this way if I recall correctly. Looks like whole casing of my gradpa radio was one particle Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration conversion

  6. Try with diluted bleach. Try it first somwehere under the furniture to be sure you are not creating more stains. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration conversion

  9. Put some sodium bicarbonate into aquarium, add some vinegar. CO2 evolves yet it is heavy enough to stay in the aquarium. Next, do some soap bubbles (how they are called in English?) and let them float in the aquarium - they will float on the CO2 cushion. Get some jar, get CO2 from the aquarium (seems funny, as you are trying to get "nothing" into the jar) and pour it onto the light candle. 10. You pay k$ for the product prediction, not for balancing. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  11. And it is not enough to put reagents in, as parameters like pressure, temperature or pH can change everything. I doubt such software will be ever able to predict all reactions. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  12. No way. But I have already typed in density tables for over 300 reagents, check CASC pages. Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  13. Could you elaborate? What do you mean by 'molarity of chemical formula'? What exact information do you want to get from chemical formula? Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  14. Some of you are aware of the fact I have already prepared two chemical calculators (see signature). I am planning to extend the line of programs and I have several ideas about what could the next calculator do. However, before starting work I decided to do a quick poll: What type of calculations would you like to have automated? Which calculations are the most tedious? Which calculations are eating most of your time, regardless of the fact that you know how to do them? Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  15. Just liquid. If it was a solution (ie mixed with water) I doubt there will be strong exothermic reaction. Besides, how do you want to inject crystals? Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator
  16. You are pretty wrong - aluminum is amphoteric and it reacts both with acids and bases. Al2O3 is stable and highly resistive to corrosion only in pH of around 7. Acid rain or alkalic soap solution are enough to remove oxide layer. New layer is created immediately, but if there is enough acid or base you will be able to dissolve aluminum completely. 17. Ethylene glycol can be replaced be glycerine if I recall correctly. You just inject glycol into the dry permanganate. It gets hot due to glycol oxidtaion until it starts to burn. Ping pong ball is made of nitrocelluloid so once it starts to burn it gives long flame. We made smoke bombs from ping pong balls when I was a kid Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators at www.chembuddy.com pH calculation concentration calculator Smarkotan oz gluthozmaz

You can try to use periodic table to predict charge at best - there are nasty irregularities. But if you have no idea what the charge should be periodic table is better than nothing. 20. OK, assuming H2O is an acid (in a way it is) and thus NaOH is a salt, how do you define hydroxide? Best, Borek -- Chemical calculators for labs and education http://www.chembuddy.com BATE - pH calculations, titration curves CASC - concentration conversions, solution preparation
  21. I agree that NaOH is the best selection for the electrolyte for water electrolysis. 24. ??? Table salt doesn't contain iodine - unless it is iodine enriched, but even then I doubt it makes sense to use it a iodine source... Add some chlorine water to convert iodide to iodine and some nonpolar solvent for extraction. 25. Taking more formal approach: Kso = [Ag+][Cl-] If there is nothing else in the solution, [Ag+] = [Cl-] and that's the case you already did. In the presence of Cl-: [Ag+] = Kso/[Cl-] and the [Ag+] is the amount of AgCl dissolved.
