  1. I think you mean is any root of x other then actual squares (4, 9, 16 etc.) create a rational number, and the answer is no. All numbers that arent perfect squares produce irrational numbers when square rooted.
  2. I assume that'd be alot lol
  3. But there could be problems with it, right? Would the universe come to an end because of these violations?? lol, sounds interesting
  4. gasoline is made of long dead organic material, you would have to go through the exact opposite interaction of burning the gasoline to get it to its original state. I dont think its possible...
  5. I tried to figure this out myself just today, couldnt think of how to do it so i just plotted / guess and checked and its cos(x) someone else would have to explain why its cos(x)
  6. I get it, makes sense now thanks all!
  7. We dont get calculus texts cause its a highschool course, but it would help if say the simple example I gave [math] f(x) = 2x [/math] and you find the anti-derivative (or integral I guess as its called) then I'd get anything else as the process would be shown. Even though will probably be doing this in a week or 2, getting a general feel before hand would definetly be helpful.
  8. Energy = Matter so when they accelerate the particles to .999c or w/e' date=' their masses dont actually increase its the energy. Their [i']relativistic[/i] mass that increases to infinity. (If I said anything incorrect somebody correct me, lol)
  9. I like that idea, makes dark energy / matter more probably, seemed like a gimmick to make everything work to me. And if we travel forward in time, could we just travel forward quicker? lol Also time dialation would seem like a form of time travel to the person traveling, though its not.
  10. It isn't entirely unable to be proven, arent they looking for sparticles or something?
  11. whats this one thing you "confuse"? Just curious I admit it does sound interesting.
  12. Hello all. I just had a calculus question. Were learning all about derivatives and everything right now. I was just wondering how do you get the anti-derivative of something? Like working backwards from the derivative. I know that if [math] f'(x) = 2x [/math] then working backwards it'd be [math] f(x) = x^2 + c [/math] where c could be anything, but I dont know why. If anyone could show me an equation of some sort that gives you an anti-derivative I'd be happy.
  13. Also, attaining to your upside-down-light thing, reality is not upside down lol. I think it has to do with your concave / convex (dont remember which is which lol) that flips it. Its not like everything is upside down and we see it wrong lol. If you wore goggles that flipped everything upside down and wore them for 24 hours, everything would seem normal. but if you took them off then everything would be upside again lol. It has to do with your brain, not the light
  14. You say you don't know high-level physics. Well there are some people here who do (definetly not one of them lol). But if you gave a general overview of what your idea is (hundreds of people have done this, and no one's idea's have been stolen from what I know), they can give you feedback as to whether your idea is plausible. Maybe it is some great new thing, but you'd need a little help in figuring it out it sounds.
  15. haha i spent a 1/2 hour of my life just now translating google messages into h@x0rz lol
  16. omg... I was lost when I hit the introduction... lol
  17. lol, well put after the big confusing science debate, at least something understandable is said

    The two e's

i never got all that stuff about entropy, but it makes sense now, thanks
  19. I think time doesn't exist, and that the universe exists in an infinite amount of "frames" that the conscious mind "plays" creating the illusion of time. Just like tv's create the illusion of motion.
  20. Well when you think about it... if all of life is affected by something huge (aka asteroid) and say half of all life is killed, this happens a few times, somethings gotta pop up evolutionary wise, to try and adapt... probably assuming alot of things, but makes sense to me
