  1. In some bars in eastern Europe you can get far more toxic drinks than H2o2
  2. There are multiple "reports" from anti vaxxer "sources" of dozens of kids contracting diseases from live vaccines. This is the problem...You get multiple crackpot sources of information all over and thats how the anti vaxxers become brainwashed (including my family members) For obvious reasons Im not going to link to these sources here.So maybe its a better idea to counter that with science instead of speeches like Argent suggests.
  3. The ball is in their ball park already. Their decision is also made up as well, no need for me to give them a speech - we hardly socialize anymore. I'm also pretty good at coming up with my own speeches (I agree with yours though), Im here to find scientific data on the live virus strains in the MMR II vaccine and how they can or cannot contribute to contracting measles, mumps and rubella.
  4. Right?! Man I'm telling ya I'm close to a meltdown with them. Any actual data on the debilitated viruses in the MMR II vaccine ?
  5. Logically it is more or less the same thing but I'm looking for info on the actual virus strains in that vaccine to be able to rationally explain this to them. I can't just tell them to take a hike, it's not that simple, its close family. I'd rather give them scientific knowledge that would contribute to them changing their mind and not be afraid of us for 2 months after we vaccinate our kid. Believe me, I'm already more than enough pissed at this so further antagonizing in combination with my "short wick" mentality will render a family nuclear holocaust and we don't want this, especially them. It is illegal here but its kind of a grey area and these hipster morons don't care...some of them even opt for children not being let into schools after vaccinations so the don't contract the disease that they were vaccinated for onto un-vaccinated children.
  6. That piece of information deals with a child developing a mild case of measles after vaccination and not contracting it to a non vaccinated child. Theres also zero scientific data in that information. I'm looking for scientific data on the actual strains of viruses in the MMR II vaccine which are live. I presume they are not virural enough (not sure if this is the word) are probably genetically modified etc. but it would be nice to have some actual data on those strains present in that vaccine and I cant find any.
  7. Thanks for you answer String. Let me rephrase my question though as this is the main concern of my anti vaxer family members: Can the live strains of viruses present in the MMR II vaccine lead to a non vaccinated child contracting measles, mumps or rubella ? The thing is that they say they are afraid of having contact with us for 2 months after we vaccinate our kid with MMR II vaccine because it consists of live virus strains. Ofcourse they are not afraid of sending their unvaccinated 4 year old to kindergarden and come back home to their unvaccinated 6 month old. Their behavior in this case is so incredibly dumb that frankly, I'm near a nervous breakdown especially that we will be forced to spend time together during upcoming family functions and a 2 week vacation in July.
  8. OK, I need to bring this thread up again. We have anti vaccers in our family and they are afraid that their children (one is 4 years and the other 6 months - both non vaccinated) might contract measels or rubella from our 12 month old when we vaccinate him with MMR vaccine. I'm trying to look for legitimate sources on this but am not succesful so far. Obviously the viruses in the vaccine are modified and/or deactivated genetically but I cant find any sources exploring this subject apart from moronic anti vaccer pages popping up. Can someone help out?

Chips are those greasy, moist, bulky chunks of potatoes right ? Blasphemy I say ! Today I learned from the film below that Edward Witten whose voice and style of speech is not the easiest to get used to is actually capable of very effectively conveying difficult concepts in a surprisingly accessible way. The 10 minutes between 12:00-22:00 are very interesting to me: https://youtu.be/RfwsvSjXkJU?t=731

Vinegar on fries?! It's blasphemy, you folks are mad.
  11. Zapatos may I ask how old your cousin is?
  12. I agree, Stringy got it right along with previous input by Velocity_Boy and others. Plus it's day time now and I definitely feel "normaler" now Lord_Antares
  13. Thanks for the links Velocity_Boy, it looks like the psychosomatic effect you mention and a combination of stary night, warm weather and probably a bunch of other small factors both natural and social might come into play to render some kind of a "real" effect that a full moon has on people As for the psychosomatic effect - knowing that theres a full moon and projecting behaviour accordingly is probably the best explanation for me putting up a thread like this one. I in no way take offence from what Lord Antares wrote, this thread is borderline crackpot so no worries
  14. Meanwhile I did some googling too and came up with similar results. I think Phi can safely move this thread somewehere where it better belongs. If you could see the eyes of these people though...
  15. Yeah I know how ridiculous I sound. For the record, I've been smoking tabacco and I'm sober. The fact that Im explaining this is kinda ridiculous too so I'm ready for more fun coming my way Anyway...the cops were dead serious and they werent pulling my leg (I swear)
  16. I know how this sounds but listen to this... We have a full moon here tonight, was smoking a cigarette with my neighbor outside and during a 10 minute time span we saw a guy slap his girlfriend and her call the police and a bunch of kids get into fights between each other. Theres ambulances and police cars going back and forth for the last 3 hours outside. I would correlate these events to spring coming and getting a nice weather, people drinking, etc but...about a year ago I had two morons trying to climb onto my appartment window (I live on the 1st floor) so I treated them with my 15 thousand lumen HiD flashlight - they imediately decided not to climb anymore (the light is really harsh) and started to run around the yard like complete lunatics throwing bottles and generaly not behaving like "normal" drunk young people. They started to climb again after a few minutes so I called the police and heres the punch line: Two cops came, I showed them and told them what happened (lunatics were long gone ofcourse) and the cops weren't surprised at all. In fact they informed me that its perfectly normal and they do a lottery at the station whos going to take the shift whenever theres a full moon. Is there any rational explanation to this or am I going nuts myself? 3 ambulances passed by while I was writing this, people honking their horns, screaming, laughing outside - normal things but a lot of them in a short period of time.

Gosh I hope those 300 pounds are just a missed guess DrmDoc. Thats more than 50 teaspoons per day, I dont think you could live through that?
  18. Not for a bat. But I do agree with you ofcourse. Your definition is great in human sense but not in physics sense I think. It's just that "darkness" is a "thing" which might mean different things depending on circumstances - not like properties used in physics like force or velocity.
  19. Darkness is a property of human or other animal sight and has nothing to do with physics. In physics the closest thing to darkness would be "lack of energy" but it's just silly to correlate the two like that. Frankly I don't understand why this topic is in the physics forum. As for color; Color is perceived differently by individuals based on experience. Color perception is a personal thing and I guarantee that everyone in this thread sees colors differently. Does it have anything to do with conciousness? (whatever that is) - not really. Its just that our brains correlate names of colors to whats out there in different ways. Like a canon camera sensor registers different colors from a nikon camera sensor. Certainly no conciousness there.
  20. I would say most definitely yes to both questions. The key is to find a good, safe way to vent and minimize risk of getting into trouble in the process. For some a good way might be physical training and/or boxing (these work for me) for others a shrink might be a better way (works wonders for some of my friends) One thing for sure...by keeping stuff inside for long periods of time without giving yourself a chance to vent you risk turning into Gollum from lord of the rings.

It's a good thing that I'm having alcohol right now (whiskey & coke zero) so I'm giving my brain adequate glucose to process the clip you posted as alcohol is converted more or less straight into sugar. Oh and and a +1 from me for a short 3:49 clip as my attention span is extremely short. Good clip.
  22. I wonder how long before this gets closed too.
  23. Frankly, Im having a problem with todays youth. I guess Im getting old, its scary. You will not get any of that from me, sory to dissapoint you. All I did is report this thread gets closed.
