  1. I have analysed the case when m1=m2. The velocity-time graph of the body, assuming the velocity of body doesn't fall below the escape velocity, is here- When m2>m1, the net force acts in the direction of m2 (vector addition yields this result). So I presume the body will follow a circular or may be an elliptical path.
  2. An absolute empty space is purely hypothetical. It doesn't exist. Almost everywhere there are photons and the presence of even a single photon would break the notion of EMPTY SPACE.
  3. How do we find the total energy of the spring+block? Is it 0.5kx^2 ?
  4. If you consider the idea about plants, you need to think that it's a CLOSED room. There won't be enough sunlight to support photosynthesis. So forget it. But electrolysis of water is a sound idea. It can give you a good deal of oxygen provided that you have enough of water and the electric bill won't trouble you. But the fact that there will be a concentration of carbon dioxide in the room due to respiration can cause suffocation. An excess of carbon dioxide will kill you. The situation will be critical in the presence of a lighted firewood or something like that, because it will produce carbon monoxide due to poor ventilation, and carbon monoxide will reach the blood stream to form carboxyhaemoglobin and that is poisonous enough to take your life. By the way, you might like to carry oxygen cylinders.
  5. How can a shadow travel faster than c?? A shadow can be cast only by a physical body. Relativity restricts the speed of any body to c. So how can the shadow travel faster than c, if the body can't ?
  6. Suppose that there's a body of mass m moving with uniform velocity of v in the horizontal direction of XX' ( see diagram). There are two massive bodies m1 and m2 which lie at a distance of r from centre O. So, as the body moves, the two bodies will influence its course of motion due to gravity. My question is how the motion of the body will be affected? From analysis, I found that if m1=m2, there will be a net force in the XX' direction, causing the body to accelerate upto O. At O, it's velocity is maximum. But, as soon as the body crosses O, there will be a net negative force, causing it to decelerate. If the velocity of the body at O is below the escape velocity, then the body will divide into two equal parts, each part will start describing a circular motion about the massive bodies. If m2>m1, then the body will bend towards m2 and will move in an arc. If the velocity of the body at any point reaches below the escape velocity, the body will fall into m2. Else, it shall follow a circular course of motion, accelerating and decelerating.
  7. Do I need to find the answer by a mere guess work? Or is there some solution? I framed it : Let the number be n. Then n mod 3 = 1 or n=3q+ 1, q is quotient.
  8. Speed of sound in normal atmospheric conditions = 332 m/s We know that tangential velocity = angular velocity x radius from centre/ axis of rotation So, radius = velocity / angular velocity So cos (latitude) = obtained radius / mean radius of earth
  9. Too much of anything is good for nothing. So just check that social media is not cutting your time too much or hampering your daily routine. And then have your time in there with your friends.
  10. Yes. I can solve it. ;-)
  11. Oops! Yes it isn't. It is a cyclic quadrilateral.

  13. As far as I know, the spiral root method is used for plotting certain surds on the real line. Archimedes principle doesn't show any relevance with that. It is the principle obeyed by a submerged body.
  14. Fine. I shall produce the proof shortly.
  15. Sure. But it's hw help.... So my proof may be rejected.
  16. Moon's orbit is not exactly circular. It's a bit elliptic with earth in one of the foci. So Vis-Viva equation will help.
  17. Opposite interior angles of a cyclic quadrilateral are supplementary.
  18. Field is the sphere of influence of a non-contact force.
  19. Suppose you believe in god. Do you have any evidence to show His presence? By evidence I mean scientific evidence.
  20. If we draw a diagram the understanding of the problem becomes easy.
