  1. So you're suggesting that electric charge is a 5th dimension that is neither space nor time?
  2. Ancient technology of a long-lost civilization combined with Clarke's 3rd Law.
  3. Why do you think that? What evidence has lead you to that conclusion?
  4. Whenever I see a post of yours I always imagine Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2 saying "Doctor P is in the house".
  5. Well, I'm convinced. I'm going to convert to Hinduism now. That... that is what the OP was trying to do, right? Convert people to Hinduism?
  6. Ah, I guess I've just never made a post containing multiple or nested quotes before.
  7. Are you sure something hasn't changed recently with whatever you're using to browse with? I'm using a Playstation Vita with JavaScript disabled and haven't noticed any problems today.
  8. Would that not imply they'd share a common ancestry with other boreoeutheria? You could probably just stick a prefix such as pseudo-, para-, or anything else onto whatever terrestrial nomenclature you think is appropriate.
  9. As it isn't possible, this isn't really relevant, but I thought I should clarify anyway - my thinking was more along the lines of a new category of forum user, trusted members chosen from the active userbase given an upgrade and not any Tom, Dick, or Harry newbie. As they'd only be able to hide the spam and not actually delete the content (or even ban offending posters) as that would fall to a full moderator to do, it should help prevent any abuses of power - something that recently happened to another forum a couple of months back - and if any of the spam-hiders were found to be playing games they could easily have their privileges revoked. But as the forum software doesn't have the capacity for that level of customisation it's a moot point.
  10. If that was a potential course of action, would the forum software allow for a sub-moderator account status that had the ability to hide spam threads until a full moderator can delete it and ban the spammer?
  11. Would it be rude of me to enquire as to why the option of automatically mod-queuing a new member's 1st post was dismissed as a potential course of action?
  12. Ah, thank you. I was just reading the Wikipedia article on acceleration (I should get into the habit of doing that before asking questions) and you both explained it much more succinctly than Wikipedia did.
  13. I always thought that to accelerate meant to increase their speed (relative to their speed in the past). Orbiting bodies have a constant speed with no increase, don't they? It seems that I must be misunderstanding something somewhere, I think?
  14. I wonder if it's possible that instead of developing these symptoms due to re-infection by a foreign pathogen, could they be triggered by your own immune response based on that first exposure you experienced several years ago - almost like an allergy? Bear in mind that I'm not a medical professional, so my question is more directed to others that may read his thread and not something that may be relevant to your individual situation. An internet forum is a really bad place to get actual medical advice.
  15. Anything that furthers our understanding of how reality works is a worthwhile endeavor.
  16. Is Neil deGrasse Tyson a white supremacist?
  17. I'm more surprised that you're still here. We already knew that you were a creationist, so that isn't news.
  18. So the Creatures computer games have been lying to us?
  19. That's awesome, thanks to both of you for taking the time to answer my question. It's a pity their flower didn't get the chance, but at least it will still be able to contribute to the next generation of flowers.
  20. Probability doesn't work like that.
  21. Unless you carry a unique (and situationally beneficial) mutation that you'd like to pass on, but that's incredibly rare. Only then could you say that you're passing on "your" genes. Usually you're just passing on your parents genes. For most people, nieces and nephews are sufficient for carrying on the family line. I have two nieces and one nephew, so that's good enough.
