Given that we have an environment with water, land and air, wasn't it inevitable we ended up with things swimming in water, walking on land and flying in the air?

For example, evolution might produce random 'wing' designs but only the ones that are areodynamic will work, meaning wings have a certain inevitability.

Land air and water need to have the correct ingredients/chemicals/composition for life to develop . And many factors can inhibit or block the development/evolution of life.

Mars used to have a more dense atmosphere and it might have had life but when the magnetic field of Mars got destroyed, the atmosphere got thinner and probably destroyed life. In 2020 Nasa sends a rover that will steal rocks….'we' can then analyse those rocks to see if there was life.

  2. The occurrence of devastating European floods correlates with large-scale fluctuations in atmospheric pressure known as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). As scientists improve their predictions for the NAO, society will be better able to prepare for future flooding.

Stefano Zanardo and his colleagues at Risk Management Solutions in London, UK, analysed historical records of severe European floods going back to 1870, and compared them with the prevailing pattern of atmospheric pressure at the time of the floods. When the NAO is in its ‘positive’ state, a strong low-pressure system over Iceland funnels winds and storms across Northern Europe. Conversely, when the NAO is in its negative state, a weak low-pressure system over Iceland makes Southern Europe wetter than usual.

Floods in Northern Europe have tended to occur — and cause most damage — when the NAO was positive during winter, and when sufficient rain had already fallen for the ground to become saturated.

Atmospheric-pressure patterns over Europe may shift with future climate change, and officials should take this into account when assessing a region’s flood risk, the scientists say. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-00727-4

  3. A person with HIV appears to be free of the virus after receiving a stem-cell transplant that replaced their white blood cells with HIV-resistant versions. The patient is only the second person ever reported to have been cleared of the virus using this method. But researchers warn that it is too early to say that they have been cured.

The patient — whose identity hasn’t been disclosed — was able to stop taking antiretroviral drugs, with no sign of the virus returning 18 months later. The stem-cell technique was first used a decade ago for Timothy Ray Brown, known as the ‘Berlin patient’, who is still free of the virus.https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-00798-3

Is a Black Hole event horizon experimentally proven to exist?  Isn't it rather a mathematical construct?   Is anything experimentally shown concerning black holes? (other then it's existence, size/gravity)

Hawking's theory shows an Apparent horizon....

    Adapt or die.

This might look 'negative thinking' ….'adapt or die' is a main property of evolution of life. The dinosaurs died because they couldn't adapt to the fast climate change which the asteroid caused. When people die because old age then they die because there body is not adapted to live longer.
