  1. but there is an internal motion, regardless of external motion..wouldn't that be the storage facility of c^2 within mass? And isn't most of that mass accounted for by the virtual particle field lying in the area between the nucleus and the orbiting electrons?
  2. we exist to the extent the universe can allow us to exist. That is, we are the state of the art for existence, this year, 13.7 billion into project launch...although the project originated much earlier in a state of minimal information, the void...I see the concept of existence start with the organizing of information into mathematics, and shortly thereafter amplified by the development of (mathematical) meanings, in the last stage before the big bang...
  3. in referring back to the idea of time being a book-keeping service, there could be a recording of all events readable with an analysis by a quantum computer of sufficient speed of the algorithm of PI. This could mathematically describe not only an early event such as the symmetry breaking of gravity, but give clues to pre-big bang developments...such as the development of logic, since PI contains all possible information. Within PI there are very many possible answers that are incorrect and at least one that is correct. Since our universe was built of one of the "correct" answers or it wouldn't exist, there could be a way of determining which answer gets expressed. Unless the multi-verse theory is right, and we are one universe that happened to be an expression of a "right" answer and so can exist and continue to persist. Others may exist (or have existed) in differing forms and abilities to hold together with varying levels of stability...so all possible universes could each be an answer to an "multiple choice test". Presumably ours in a rather good answer. On the multi-verse idea, I see that more than one universe may exist, but not an infinite series of them since I adhere to the no nothings and no infinities limitation, plus the strong possibility that it takes an extensive catalogue of information to describe a universe, even a flimsy one. With no infinite time, there isn't enough time to do an infinite anything...
  4. genecks, I think the universe hasn't "broke down" because there is something still driving it. The same thing that delivered it, the algorithm of PI, as it plays out as a program for the computer (IBH) that describes the universes. I also like your notion of "some vaccuum bringing in a new universe" I have thought for about a year that the only thing required to make a universe is a (near) complete absence of information or a "pure" void....since there is a universe here, space is clogged up with virtual particles at a minimum, dis-allowing the natural creation events to take place. I see that a "pure" void has a default single bit of information (that indeed, it is one void) and that it morphs into a universe if it is not interfered with (entangled away from it's natural evolution by external forces) ...so I don't worry about another big bang causing trouble in this universe as space itself is keeping us safe...ps, I don't think time is a dimension, if that's what you mean by "4D" universe. I think other dimensions up to 10 could exist, but I see time as a "bookeeping" of however many changes are present within a given region, and acts more as a theoretical observer of space activities than a component of it
  5. in post #1 you say time began with the big bang. I see time as having been around to cause the accumulated complexity of the big bang to occur in the first place. Certainly some rather lengthy list of functions must have been accomplished before the "switch was thrown" with the big bang...or there wouldn't have been any energy, let alone the specific low entropy energy system you describe. Some aspect of a facilitator must have the been the instructions allowing orderly arrangements and another aspect with the ability to carry out that function. All of this could have taken considerable time. I see one fundamental aspect of the facilitator as logic, which ordered chaotic information into the repeatable and sustaining functional units of math, and orderly arrangements described by the big bang would suggest a very baroque state to the maths at that particular point in time...
  6. how about the universe acting as a gravitational lens upon itself, recycling early photons back towards their sources...at least in this section of the universe?
  7. I think a weak definition of the term could be "the ability for certain segments of universe to communicate within and between themselves to produce change" as it lacks any activator of that ability...I see the conservation of energy as a little off. Some infintesimal energy is added everywhere, or else the universe wouldn't be expanding...so, within local input/output interactions the law holds, but additional energy is always added due to local dark energy within the region...but dark energy may not interact in any particular way with local energy exchanges so never gets measured... perhaps at event horizons there is an interaction...
  8. as I recall, einstein's entanglement explanation was not with cards, but with left and right gloves. If one glove of a pair is right, the other must be left. From what I understand, the "spooky action at a distance" occurs whenever you disentangle the 2 particles. At that point, one seems to sense the disentanglement from the other regardless of the distance between them...if you "open the envelope" and expose particle A to the environment, it will cause a loss of entanglement to the B particle, instantaneously causing both particles to begin random angles of spin from a previously held stable position that was right angled to each other...
  9. isn't the "quantum fluctuation of space" the virtual particle phenomena?
  10. you have to give a description of what you mean by karma, to be used as a basis of interactions with any physical system...by karma do you mean that conscious awareness affects the physical universe, as a sort of "5th force" ? The closest thing I have to a concept of karma is that consciousness can affect the other 4 forces, and so acts as a sort of phantom 5th force, and potentially stores "intention" within the informational state of the immediate environment of a particular individual....and is (normally) restrained to action within the subjective state of the individual's conscious mind...and acts to warp individual perceptions of extant reality. But, if everything is information, then the informational state of perceptions could at some point actually have physical consequence other than a sustained form of self-hypnosis affecting other impressionable and complicit minds. (Religion). This is thankfully highly unlikley to happen...it is bad enough that we have distorted perceptions of reality, much worse to inflict them upon an innocent universe should an individual ever gain that ability...
  11. when I was asking about what moves a hydrogen atom, I was referring to a gas of hydrogen atoms, not a single atom isolated. As hydrogen gas is compressed, it is the electron of each atom that is doing the repulsing of it's neighbor, and acts as the active mechanism of the compression energy, correct?
  12. I liked strange's question....do hydrogen atoms really move due to the movement of the electron...? I would presume that movement is due to electron repulsion from adjacent atoms...
  13. I see the universe as a mathematical object, composed of information. All information must be expressed it seems, and we are doing a small portion of the "work"....resulting from the thrust of the initial conditions...sadly, we seem to be unable (or unaware) to differentiate between logical and illogical information as a basis for the willfull choices of expression, in species wide averaged behaviour..
  14. how does geometry take shape without the mathematics with which to describe it? How do you get triangles ? The point void, if it had a geometry, would be spherical or circular..
  15. It seems that 4 determinants might control the consistency of the speed of light in a vaccuum. The transitioning from electric to magnetic fields, the reversal of that process (which may not be symmetric), and two different speeds of the respective fields as they propagate through space...
  16. is the speed of light continuous? If light is a continuing conversion of the electic field to magnetic, then back again, is the speed that it travels as an electric field equal to the speed it travels as a magnetic? And, is there a variation in the speed as the photon is in transition between the two states? I would presume a fine gradient of variation occurs, even in a perfect vaccuum...would virtual particles be of any consequence to a ray of light in empty space?
  17. holy water sprinkled upon persons from a central bowl. Also wine passed around, along with marijuana cigarettes passed around if you include rasta...
  18. I see a sort of anthropic principle by default....any system complex enough to create a universe has complexity enough to support awareness developing within it....that doesn't mean that a particular universe has to develop awareness, only having the potential given the right conditions.
  19. Evolution bring consequence...consequences emerge from the gap as meanings, but I don't think it is all an accident, only naturally occurring and inevitable...and yes, we cannot prove "we" exist... we have separate religions with corporeal ties to the material.
  20. yes iNOW, I will try to restate my above entry by saying that the mathematical object that describes the universe and has 2 main informational components, logical and illogical. The logic component describes the physical universe, and the illogical is the information that is shielded from the physical universe, as there seems to be a logic "firewall" that doesn't permit things like deities, flying pigs, and re-assembling broken eggs from happening. That is the "combed", as in "filtered out", reference I previously stated. (There is a thing in electronics called a "comb filter" and it removes certain information in the data stream, and allows others to pass...)The illogic is a component, and a necessary ingredient in the math object, and since sentience is a sub-set of the object, our imaginations can access all kinds of fantasy gods from the illogic component, and that is indeed how we can imagine them. A description of all information, logical or illogical you can think of is within the object, and has been there prior to our individual births....this set an upper limit on free will in the human condition..I am sorry to be obscure, and I sometimes write with the pre-conceived notion that the reader has read most (or at least some) of my previous posts dealing with my IBH flow-chart, which would make my previous post rather mundane and an obvious re-statement of the basic principles of the IBH system. The system is directly applicable to the topic in question....I hope this is better.
  21. I agree with the virus analogy to the degree that I see the human spread of "combed" virus, or religion, as rules of order of one specific belief system, being subsets of the inherent viral informational component of the mathematical object the universe may be. Any and all information that is available for sentience to become aware of is within the object, of which created and continues to describe the universe. The segments of information that are logical describes the physical universe, the rest are illogical, but still exist within the algorithm as it continues. The algorithm requires the illogical "junk dna" as carriers that support the later described logical " dna". The transcribeable dna structure is dependent upon the junk dna for it's overall structure parameters, and visa versa...so one might thank "god" that we have such an interesting universe to evolve in, and take care not to overuse illogic as a basis for logical thinking...although it's everpresence should and can be appropriately expressed in human culture...as I don't think "god" would like us to take our skewed view on reality too seriously just yet...

    Proof of God

god is information that describes a thing with god-like qualities, and as such is illogical and only can be accessed with the mind, since logic limits what actually can appear or "do work" in this universe... god and countless variations of gods exist in the mathematical object's "junk dna", equivalent to a virus in a computer program...although part of the supporting overall required structure to allow the material universe to appear as it is...or else we couldn't imagine one, let alone millions of variations...

aren't you talking about the holodeck on star trek?
  24. ophiolite...I had no intention of saying the fibres as described in the casteneda book are to be taken for an "introduction" to string theory in the proper mathematical sense, only in the obvious semantic connection of the two terms, and so you are correct in your criticism...
